If no one has been to the site before here it is: http://www.zerohedge.com/
Believe it or not it has a huge following in the finance world due to it often being one of the first ones to break or provide color on important stories.
It's not uncommon at all to see a row of traders with tweet deck open allocating a single column to Zero hedge, they are just that prolific with their output.
The downside of the site is that they tend to have a very big bearish slant though. No one has ever accused them of being neutral.
I hope they continue to run the site. I find it provides a fair bit of value to me.

Zero Hedge is the HN of finance, from high level macro to Nanex graphs of HFT, also see the Zero Hedge Reads on the left hand side for other sites -
http://www.zerohedge.com/
Market Ticker, Karl also has a show on Blog Talk Radio -

Sadly RTs excellent Capital Account is no more but they have a different, though not quite as good show called Prime Interest-

Zero Hedge is the blog to follow on this story and other capital markets/ computing issues.

The writer is under a pseudonym but clearly knows his stuff and has connections. He is so well-respected that the NYSE is actually responding to his posts with statements of their own.

I'm not OP but a quick yandex search (google isn't great for conservative news) suggests ~12k people were arrested last year for speech. https://nypost.com/2025/08/19/world-news/uk-free-speech-struggle-30-ar…
This article says 10k https://www.zerohedge.com/political/britains-speech-gulag-exposed-1000…
More broadly it's been a huge issue for a while, tons of articles come out of the UK for people being arrested for criticizing politicians/policies. Even more dystopian is it's hard to report on, because the police might come after you for talking about it. Germany is having similar issues, it's easy to forget most of the world (including Europe) doesn't have free speech

> I haven't seen them touch DoD or any of the massive medical programs, etc.
Have you considered that they are going after the low-hanging fruit, getting in "reps & sets" before they attack programs that have vastly greater inertia and potentially bi-partisan support? DoD and healthcare cover a ton of jobs, and might actually trigger pushback from Congress, in ways that annihilating the CIA's propaganda arm (which is basically a handful of overpaid bougie Dem-leaning "journalists") doesn't.

I coincidentally just came to HN looking for this exact answer following the headlines about BTC soaring. [1]
The use cases for it I see are:
1. Cheaply send large payments without having to pay a bank fee (instead you pay btc fees plus conversion to and from fiat fees).
2. Anonymously transfer money if using a washing service (illegal to offer one in the US) or if you spend rawly mined coins.
IMO, crypto is a US gov invention that was pushed to speculative theater to give threat actors huge incentive to break sha256/512 publically, as the best use of such tech atm is to steal massive amounts of money. It therefore acts as a canary for when someone finally does figure out how to crack it or easily solve prime factorization.

I like zero hedge. They have financial bearish orientation
https://www.zerohedge.com/
I will warn you that it does have some nonsense articles, so you have to think critically. They have many writers and some are just bad while there are some good writings once in awhile.

>Having their brand linked to a site like this can be damaging to their brand\business\moral stance and they would be totally within their right to stop proving service for that..
Sure Cloudflare could drop them but the reason people want Kiwi Farms to loose Cloudflare is because they are DDoSing them. What is a DDoS protection worth if all it takes to circumvent it are a few people screeching on social media?
>buy their own servers and host it themselves
They are doing it already [0]

One single site will always have the echo chamber problem. In order to better understand the complex issues facing our country I have attempted to find alternative viewpoints.
The key to obtaining value from any reporting organization is realizing there are many viewpoints and the one from which I see the world is incomplete at best. Thus why I am looking at the news and avoid echo chambers.

>>>But they do love to follow “experts“ who recommend malaria medication and horse dewormer as cure against COVID
Not to be confused with the FDA...which approved horse steroids for COVID treatment[1][2] at the same time it was lambasting the population via its Twitter account for taking horse dewormer. This sort of conflicting messaging is again why people are ignoring "experts".

After some brief experimentation, sorting by 'best' might be a better strategy to find controversial comments.
I also only checked one article (https://www.zerohedge.com/political/vote-mail), and the 'worst' comment:
> Vote by mail is the best option.
The 'best' comment:
> This November ends in civil war no matter who wins or loses. The other side wont accept the results because of vote by mail. I don't know about you, but I am glad I'm on the side with all the guns, ammo, land, tools, water, food production and tradesmen. They've got big cities and computers. Ha. Enjoy kiddos.
Given that I live in a state with an incredibly successful history of vote by mail, I tend to love that worst comment and hate that 'best' comment.

"Did China Steal Coronavirus From Canada And Weaponize It?"
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/did-china-steal-coronavirus-can…
From the article:
"In March 2019 ... a shipment of exceptionally virulent viruses from Canada’s NML ended up in China. The event caused a major scandal with Bio-warfare experts questioning why Canada was sending lethal viruses to China. Scientists from NML said the highly lethal viruses were a potential bio-weapon.
Following investigation, the incident was traced to Chinese agents working at NML. Four months later in July 2019, a group of Chinese virologists were forcibly dispatched from the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory (NML). The NML is Canada’s only level-4 facility and one of only a few in North America equipped to handle the world’s deadliest diseases, including Ebola, SARS, Coronavirus, etc."

To an extent, this sounds terrifying. The first thing that jumped to my mind is that GPS be jammed or spoofed. In fact, the U.S. military in its shift away from COIN to great power competition in possibly highly contested environments is training to have less reliance on GPS: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-01-26/usaf-begins-massive-gps-blac…
Radar can be jammed too, but I would guess the EM signature powerful enough to track. I don't know if GPS jammers would have that issue.
On a positive note, I think this would pave the way towards integrating commercial drone infrastructure into our airways a lot better!

I've always been extremely skeptical of commercial real estate investment schemes based on the heuristic that the AM airwaves are full of advertisements for them.
WeWork has been outed as a fraud for months, probably longer [1]. But hey Adam Neumann proves the greater fool theory is still alive and well, so there's that.

Good old zerohedge never misses an opportunity to shit on Tesla [0]. Question for Tesla owners: how is the reliability? I'd love to get unto an electric if only to never have to change my oil again but im curious as to what kind of maintenance requirements these cars have.

Debt from multiple issuers is pooled and sold by pieces to investors with different risk profiles. The more risky layers will be the first touched if there are problems, but pay better in the best case. High risk (variation in expected returns), high (expected) return.
The idea is the "good" part of product (the AAA layer) is very safe... according to the model. But it may not be so safe after all if things don't go as expected.

> By his own account, Lokey was writing as many as fifteen posts a day, among them most of the political pieces. The gig had a certain formula, he told Bloomberg: “Russia=good. Obama=idiot. Bashar al-Assad=benevolent leader. John Kerry= dunce. Vladimir Putin=greatest leader in the history of statecraft.” For Zero Hedge, Syria was a special obsession, a sign of the essential strength of authoritarian regimes and the weakness of democracies.
