Having tried both, I prefer Yuzu for playing Tears of the Kingdom: https://yuzu-emu.org/
Both are great, though, and the rapid speed of development on both projects means that whatever impressions I formed earlier this year are likely already out of date!

You should consider a name change. You will always be overshadowed by the best Nintendo Switch emulator out there. https://yuzu-emu.org/

Huh, we see an arguments against of this point every year. The projects like https://yuzu-emu.org/ (deleted from github and now lives as https://suyu.dev/) or youtube-dl (been suspended on github for some time), a lot of developers from Russia and another countries under sanctions also been blocked. Github is a place for communication with dev community, but it is definitely not a safe place for backup the code.

And there is an immense interest in running it in Yuzu[1][2]. You can see how many relevant issues[3] were reported in last few days.

yuzu is another good Switch emulator. here's a link to their latest progress report, they're a pretty good read:

It's pretty well established that the market for Yuzu is playing commercial games. Just look at their home page: https://yuzu-emu.org/ Maybe not direct piracy, but clearly adjacent to it. We aren't running homebrew software here.

Check out https://yuzu-emu.org/
They're still in the early stages, but it's promising considering it's from the same team that made the successful Citra 3DS emulator. I know it's not technically "developing on the Switch", but it might give some insight.

yuzu is a fork of the Citra 3DS [1] emulator, maintained by the same people [2].

This is not correct, but there are many people making this claim. Yuzu is arguably the most popular emulator, and only around 20% of games work well out of the box (https://yuzu-emu.org/game/). A further 30% require tweaks, or operate sub-optimally. The remaining 50% either don't run at all or offer a terrible experience. The thing to remember is that even if you pick one of the games in the "perfect" category, it's still not perfect. For example, you often have to content with hours and hours of "shader" loading. This means choppy and and strange graphical glitches. Further, drivers for various systems are not perfect, and sometimes certain features utilising, for example, the gyroscope, don't work correctly.
There is a VERY vocal minority of Linux gamers who have VERY rose coloured glasses on for anything Linux. I expect some of them to respond to this comment with some variation of "well I have never had any problems with Yuzu. It's the most amazing thing I've ever used in my whole life!!!"

Yuzu also has an android build although I believe it runs only on snapdragon devices.
https://yuzu-emu.org/entry/yuzu-android/
It has an early access programme via patreon (but available here https://pineappleea.github.io/ )
Skyline runs on Android but I've never managed to get it to work on any device. It's no longer in development

yuzu, a Switch emulator, had introduced network play support a while ago that was gated behind Patreon subscriptions but was subsequently removed. https://yuzu-emu.org/entry/yuzu-x-raptor/
IIRC, for a while cemu (a Wii U emulator) had builds with support for Breath of the Wild gated behind Patreon early access as well.

Yes but you must own and rip these games yourself before playing them: https://yuzu-emu.org/help/quickstart/

The other popular Switch emulator, Yuzu, recently released their progress report for February in case you are interested in how far along the state of Switch emulation is these days. Yuzu is C++ and roughly comparable to Ryujinx, feature-wise.

Without referencing non-public documentation https://yuzu-emu.org/entry/yuzu-nvdec-emulation/
"The Switch uses NVDEC along with VIC (Video Image Composer) in the GPU for video decoding. Games are exposed to higher level APIs by Nintendo which abstract the configuration of these modules."
If you're using a custom engine which does not want to use these APIs you're of course free to do it yourself (and deal with how you're going to syncronize it and the higher resource utilization) but most major titles use the built in hardware decoder provided via the API.
