I'm addicted to This Week in Startups: http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/
Jason Calacanis has some real world empathy for entrepreneurs having been in the game since the web 1.0 era in NYC. His interviews and insights can be great, I often find myself reaching to write things down as I listen...

Although not tech news blogs, I find Chris Dixon (http://cdixon.org) and Mark Suster's (http://bothsidesofthetable.com/) blogs very insightful. You should also check out Suster's weekly video podcast, This Week in Venture Capital (http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-venture-capital/). Even better, imo, is Jason Calacanis' This Week in Startups (http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/).

He seems to be doing a lot of good stuff: http://thisweekin.com , the launch conference http://launch.is , http://openangelforum.com/

Obviously depends on your interests.
I do a video & podcast every week that covers startup lessons, venture capital advice and deals funded for the week. It's called This Week in Venture Capital. http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-venture-capital/ (there are links to there to the free iTunes download.
Also, This Week in Startups is great because it profiles startup CEOs and talks about the week's news. Hosted by Jason Calacanis and is here: http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/
Other recommendations: www.mixergy.com - Andrew Warner is great and profiles successful founders.
And I live TED talks.

Reporters Roundtable is a professionally produced weekly conversation about a single tech-topic. It's great - http://www.cnet.com/reporters-roundtable-podcast/
If you handle two hours of Jason Calacanis you could try This Week in Startups. http://thisweekin.com/startups
37signals podcast has had a couple of moments but it's not particularly thrilling. - http://37signals.com/podcast

In this episode of TWiS[1]dhh claims he would never sell 37signals, it's an interesting discussion about this exact topic.

He was actually one of warmer startup guys a year or so back as a TWIST guest (and groupon started as a http://www.thepoint.com, service for activists, philantropists..).
I imagine thinking about billons and getting to 7000 in workforce in such short time can change people, at least on the outside.

Incidentally, Bitcoin will be discussed on Tuesday's This Week in Startups @TWiStartups
http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/
"Oh yes, we'll talk about poker and #bitcoin on Tuesday's #TWIST. Guest Amir Taaki has experience w/this business model."

I'm assuming the host will be @Jason Calicanis.

I believe his method has a ton of potential. First saw Khan on This Week in Startups: http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/this-week-in-startups-94-wit… and was impressed to learn that Bill Gates invited him to talk. I think his method works for many people and could change the way many people learn.

You should check out some of his shows on http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/ - you can get a sense of who he is from watching a few.
The general consensus on HN is that he doesn't treat people well or is somehow not very "honest".
Personally, I'm a big fan. I watch every episode and I generally agree with most of what he says.

There was a really good episode of "This Week in Startups" a while back with a psychologist who talked about this phenomenon:

After watching the latest "This Week in Startups" with Jason hosting Dave McClure (http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/this-week-in-startups-91-wit… my opinion of Jason has sunk to an all time low. Jason spent a significant chunk of time trash-talking Arrington, and egging on Dave to do the same. It all came across as very childish to me.
That said, my opinion of Arrington isn't much better.

GetGlue apparently stores much of their data in SDB. CEO (Alex Iskold) talked about it in TWiST #78:

Netflix is also migrating to SimpleDB from Oracle:

Marco Zappacosta, founder of Thumbtack, addressed this issue at some length in his interview with Jason Calacanis on This Week in Startups. (Sorry, I have no idea where it is in the interview. I believe Marco starts talking generally about the topic about 30 minutes in, and calls it Network Independent Value.)

A similar question was asked on a recent 'This Week in Startups' http://thisweekin.com/thisweekin-startups/this-week-in-startups-with-t…
The gist of the answer was that if you were clearly making a play on the word eBay or if people might get them confused, then you have to stop. It doesn't sound like your case, so you are probably in the right, but the next question is how to deal if you want to fight it or ignore it.

JC said he was going to talk about it on This Week in Startups, even discussing it in the intro - but then said nothing. I scanned the transcript and only found the intro bit, there might be something vague elsewhere, but I don't see it.
"Additionally we’ll be talking about Michael Arrington’s ‘AngelGate’, fact or fiction. And we’re going to tell you how you can come to The Launch Conference, that’s my version of TechCrunch 50, on February 23-24, 2011. All this and more on today’s This Week In Startups."

On a similar topic, Mark Suster (with GRP in L.A.) talks about how his blog (http://bothsidesofthetable.com) has impacted his deal flow in this video from the inaugural show of This Week in Venture Capital:

This is an odd announcement considering the last I heard, 37signals would prevent new signups to phased out services, not abandon them entirely [0]. I can't imagine that Breeze was all that resource intensive to maintain, but I don't really know what goes into such a service.

...
Jason Calacanis: Yeah. I remember Back Pack.
David: We stopped offering to new people. Ta-Da List and Writeboard. The critical thing, I feel like, we did right was to say, “No new people could sign up for this. Everybody who’s still on it, we’re still going to support it.” We’re just going to continue to support it.
Jason C: So what was the thinking there? It doesn’t cost us that much.
David: It doesn’t cost that much to support it. What’s really expensive in running these services is you have to keep scale as your growing. You have to buy new hardware and manage the ops. You have to deal with the bugs that invariably will spill out from launching new features and all that stuff. If you stop launching new features and you stop growing then it becomes a non issue in many ways.
Jason C: Set it and forget it.
David: Exactly. Set it and forget it. It’s going to be there till… I don’t necessarily want to say the last guy closes the lights or whatever… but there’s no imperative for us to close it down. I think it’s a much more humane way to deal with…
