Umair Haque writes a lot about the UK. In intricate detail. Pretty gruesome. https://medium.com/eudaimonia-co/welcome-to-dickensian-britain-97bf9e7… https://eand.co/brexits-three-years-old-how-s-it-going-catastrophic-is… https://eand.co/britain-has-officially-lost-its-mind-5c218510b11f There are many other articles regarding the UK and what went wrong in his publication. https://eand.co/

> hatred that seems to be all we have left in the USA. UK and USA, they make a very interesting pair https://eand.co/how-america-collapsed-and-became-a-fourth-world-countr… > Both nations, too, now, are nasty places. They feel so markedly different than the great social democracies of Western Europe and Canada. The atmosphere and mood are ones of constant, omnipresent hostility — to everyone, from everyone

I think that super power affiliation is perhaps a somewhat outdated definition of the three worlds concept and Britain certainly doesn't fit the modern one [1]. This guy argues that Britain is best thought of as a fourth world country [2] and he explains why the financial markets now compare Britain to a banana republic [3] [1] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_World [2] https://eand.co/how-america-collapsed-and-became-a-fourth-world-countr… [3] https://eand.co/britain-just-hit-the-next-level-of-self-destruction-an…

Destroying Ukraine is orthogonal to establishing a Russian digital currency. Putin is not crazy. He's outlined in great detail his problem with Ukraine, but people don't want to believe him and imagine they can find the real reason. This war is exposing that some people have no analytical skills at all and write up dumb takes. Here's another one: Putin is Devastating Ukraine to Send the World a Message https://eand.co/why-putin-is-unleashing-slaughter-in-ukraine-7b1430ef1… Trust me, the world doesn't need your ill informed opinion because you have a deadline and a fan base that you need to write for

The linked blog is by a notorious America-hater Umair Haque, almost all of his pieces are slammed for similar reasons you see in this comments section. It's hate bait, nothing more. (I recommend "Why the Anglo World is Collapsing" /s) Take a look at his other work to get an idea of how seriously you should take this guy: https://eand.co/@umairh

Hi guys, I'm from Belarus, co-own a software development company in HighTechPark in Minsk and would like to drop my "five pennies" here. First of all, as we all live in diff countries, we have diff perception of what is good or bad. Moreover, we are live in humanism-driven era, that means that "there is no authority expcept of me and my feelings". In Middle Ages God and Priest told you want to do and what is beautiful, good or bad. In Socialism, Nationalism or Communism the Ruling Party told you what to do. In Liberalism and more democratic countries Capitalism and MNC (Multinational corporations) gaining more power and "providing the offer you can not refuse". Whereas in Middle Ages there was no growth, now everyone is obsessed with growth. And we would know the answer "who was right" only after we would come into a lack of resources and an ecological disaster due to consumption rates. So, as I'm not an authority for you, just focus on your feelings when you read the text below. I would say, that Belarus lives in autocrasy, rather dictatorship. The President doesn't tell everyone what to do. We all have a freedom of choice, can study, learn foreign languages and go abroad. Many people did that, doing that and will be doing that. The country is facing a challenge how to solve that question. Singapore's advice would be: bring more investors to the country to build enterprizes. There are issues with that. Same time, there opened "The Great Stone" project, where…

> In London, Paris, Berlin, I hop on the train, head to the cafe — it’s the afternoon, and nobody’s gotten to work until 9am, and even then, maybe not until 10 — order a carefully made coffee and a newly baked croissant, do some writing, pick up some fresh groceries, maybe a meal or two, head home — now it’s 6 or 7, and everyone else has already gone home around 5 — and watch something interesting, maybe a documentary by an academic, the BBC’s Blue Planet, or a Swedish crime-noir. I think back on my day and remember the people smiling and laughing at the pubs and cafes.[0] No, not everyone in Europe gets to live white-collar worker dream of writing poetry at the coffee shop and coming in late. See the people working at the coffee shop, the construction workers, garbage men, etc. One thing I love about America is that people still get shit done here. One reason that Europe has very few innovative new companies created in the last 25 years is that everyone is at the coffee shop writing poetry. An old joke - "Every MBA in America dreams of starting a billion dollar business. Every MBA in Europe dreams of starting a satellite office of the American business." The rich elite, the men in power. What better way to rid the world of "brown subhumans", than to make the climate kill them in their own countries? https://eand.co/how-capitalism-torched-the-planet-and-left-it-a-smokin…

TL;DR: America is failing as a state because it is not a good European welfare state. School shootings, lack of public investment, lack of nationalized healthcare, opioid crises, income inequality, extreme capitalism, oligarchy. We need more Europe, less America in order to save America. EDIT: Here [1] is more by the author on how making America more like Europe is the key to solving all of America's problems. 1. https://eand.co/the-american-dream-is-over-this-is-the-age-of-the-euro…
