Not quite a game, but I've always loved the art of Short Trip: https://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip/

Love this. Reminds me of "Short Trip" https://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip/ HN Discussion from 2017 - posted as "Scenic Tram Ride" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15324954

A very impressive little game, amazing what you can achieve in a browser. Another relaxing game I discovered a few years ago (I think also through HN) https://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip/ You're controlling a small railcar of some kind driving through villages and landscapes.

Ah, this is great. I haven't done a ton of interaction fiction (mainly just this and a couple from itch.io) but each time I find it a lot more enjoyable than I would've imagined. <side track> I'm usually of the persuasion that the web as a platform is way too big and messy and complicated and abusable, but little things like this (and Listen to Wikipedia [1], and A Short Trip [2], and orb.farm [3], and ...) sort of redeem it a little bit. Most of the web is still abusive trash, but it's nice to be reminded of the good stuff once in awhile. </side track> [1] http://listen.hatnote.com/ [2] https://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip/ [3] https://orb.farm/

From the credits: http://alexanderperrin.com.au/portfolio/short-trip/ > Three.js, Javascript > Short Trip is the first instalment in a collection of interactive illustrations created for the web. It has been created as a study into capturing the essence of graphite on paper within a digital context, and to learn more about web-based graphics technologies. Short Trip will run on most devices supporting WebGL, including mobile devices. > Have a look at alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip > Due to the current limitations of both WebGL technologies and my understanding of them, there’s bound to be issues found here and there. If you’ve found something particularly odd and have a spare few minutes it would be greatly appreciated if you tell me about it here. At the moment there’s a few known issues particularly relating to Android support. I hope that these will improve with time. > Regardless, I hope that you enjoy your journey.

Perhaps not as technically impressive, but this [0] other short game/experience from the same creator is extraordinarily charming and well produced! [0]: https://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip/

Press space to see the world from another side. Use the left and right to 'steer'. Also checkout his Short Trip which was posted here some time ago: http://alexanderperrin.com.au/paper/shorttrip
