I wonder what will happen to YC's posterous[1]. Pg usually twits all that info, but it was nice to have a less ephemeral source of info.

Plus he's a part-time partner at YC http://ycombinator.posterous.com/welcome-sam-garry-emmett-and-justin.
I'd love to have this question answered.
Edit: Apparently, he just changed his role at Justin.TV to an advisor. So I think most of his time is spent on Exec, while on the side advising YC companies, Justin.TV/Twitch.TV, and Socialcam. But still definitely a lot for one person to manage.

i see those rolling out on techcrunch... also on their blog http://ycombinator.posterous.com/
they are all about, what we are about... ;)

Thanks for the info! Could you give some more information about your setup (Chrome version, OS)?
You can contact me at [my HN username]@geckolandmarks.com if you don't want to comment here.
I am using the default Posterous theme with only a minor addition to have a custom favicon. Can you see other posterous blogs properly with that browser, for example http://ycombinator.posterous.com/ ?

Tyler makes some great points. I remembering in this video (http://ycombinator.posterous.com/y-combinators-graham-doesnt-see-bubbl… Paul talks about the co-founders and how they really look at the relationship vs the idea...

Neat, I didn't know about the Coca-cola deal. Which if you're as curious as I was, is described here: http://ycombinator.posterous.com/posterous-s08-jumps-on-the-revenue-wa…
It's great to see what companies can come up with. :)
Thanks.

Paul Graham congratulated AppJets in this post: http://ycombinator.posterous.com/congratulations-appjets.
What got my attention was the "all-Javascript application platform" that the AppJets didn't know they were building.
We are building a stack of web apps for small businesses, not small apps. Unlike other cloud computing/database software/marketplaces out there, we provide our external developers with a really great platform.
Our primary target will always be the end users. Look at Form Creator, an app developed in record time that rivals pricy commercial web services!
We are building apps that customers will be willing to pay for. If a JS Rails will emerge from our own endeavor, even better; but we are not writing a framework.
We also don't stretch too far with the hosting infrastructure. Erbix will serve its purpose: web apps for small businesses.

Best of luck to YCombinator's newest entry, then ( http://ycombinator.posterous.com/need-to-process-payments# ).
I guess it's a market that needs a shakeup.
If said payment processor serves as a Paypal replacement, I'll sign up in a heartbeat.
Edit: apgwoz also posted the link. The comments are over here http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1430135

Hmm... I think maybe this is where a big part of the problem lies. SEO hasn't been "black magic" for a long time now, and most of the "black magic" that worked from 1997-2003 is dead and gone, replaced by creative marketing, accessibility and best practices.
But perhaps that message has been drowned out by the ongoing perception from those early years of SEO?
BTW - this might be good material to explain my point above - http://ycombinator.posterous.com/the-first-yc-conference

They were interviewed by Mixergy and Jessica Livingston recently and there's a LOT of great stuff in those interviews:

Thanks for listening everyone! I'm planning to make a copy of this available on http://ycombinator.posterous.com/, but it might not be till tomorrow since I've never done it before. Also, I'll hopefully iron out the technical difficulty that caused some audio problems on my end.

When I go to http://ycombinator.posterous.com/ I get a message saying "Welcome to neo.taki.net :)". Is this a config error, something weird on my end, is this hacked?....

It's getting to be difficult to avoid sites that are affiliated or offer Facebook*.
Even ycombinator (and indirectly Hacker News) is guilty of being loosely affiliated with Facebook.

A while ago there was a post on here for a new Y Combinator company that was going to provide an alternative for online payments. When is their demo day? really looking forward to it :)
Edit: here it is, http://ycombinator.posterous.com/need-to-process-payments

It's all fairly muddled: http://www.merchantequip.com/merchant-account-blog/1027/a-comparison-o…
I imagine PayPal gets the worst rep because of its larger user base - though I could be wrong. Google Checkout has some horror stories, too.
One of the last times this was discussed, a YC-funded start-up was mentioned: http://ycombinator.posterous.com/need-to-process-payments. I haven't seen nor heard anything about it, and it's US-only, but maybe pg can give us the inside scoop on the progress.
apgwoz · 2010-06-15
Not sure if you saw the post on hacker news entitled: "Need to process payments?" -- http://ycombinator.posterous.com/need-to-process-payments, but you might wanna contact them once you get everything else sorted out. Good luck!

Call me REALLY cynical if you like, but just noticed this as well: http://ycombinator.posterous.com/yc-founders-at-work-series-dropbox-in…

Actually all I have to do is change the software. Harj is going to monitor the late applications.
