The internet is pretty awesome, and has a lot of resources too. :P Some of my favorites: http://www.viget.com/inspire/, http://veerle.duoh.com/, http://www.webdesignerwall.com/, and http://jontangerine.com/. Even if these resources don't have tutorials, surround yourself with design and you'll start picking it up.

There are a ton out there: http://css-tricks.com http://alistapart.com http://smashingmagazine.com http://webdesign.tutsplus.com http://webdesignerwall.com Lots of agencies and designers post some great articles and tutorials on their blogs as well, just look around. I usually find that the best way to discover new stuff is to hit the links of whoever is writing a tutorial you like. Check out personal sites, agency blogs where the authors work, etc. Just keep your eyes open.

The demo (http://webdesignerwall.com/demo/css-social-buttons/) looks great but a button is pretty useless without an :active (pressed) state. Would be nice if it was built-in. There are some pressed classes defined but I don't think you can dynamically add them when the button is :active through CSS only.

You're looking at it too literally. A grid is meant to be a basic visual system -- a framework in itself really -- that brings order to 2D design and usually gets obscured by graphics. All of these are based on exacting grids: http://www.webdesignerwall.com/trends/best-of-css-design-2008/ some more apparent than others. Of course, the value of a framework of a framework is another question.

I doubt that it was unintentional. It's an old fix to what I perceive as a non-problem [0]. When a user turns their iPhone to view it on Landscape - the site won't resize without that viewport meta tag being there. Not sure if it's been fixed. Even if it hasn't, I question the amount of people who browse on their phones in Landscape. [0] http://webdesignerwall.com/tutorials/iphone-safari-viewport-scaling-bu… E: I'm running under the assumption that you might not be the dev and that the dev may have added it there intentionally to fix the landscape bug. This post has the wrong tone without it being read more explanatory, so I felt this clarification necessary.

http://webdesignerwall.com/tutorials/iphone-safari-viewport-scaling-bu… Essentially, when you rotate the device to landscape, it doesn't correctly reset your view the content, so you end up zoomed in.

The tumblr icons are all removed, I just put this site together quickly and admit it was the wrong thing to do, I apologize. Im not sure about the facebook stuff your talking about I also thought using lightbox and Getsatisfaction the way I have is ok. Header was never ment to offend, its was just a bit of fun. As most people would assume I am not implying that you die if you use this service. Has also been replaced. I put the site together in a few days and design is not my strong point. The orignal diary type design is shown here: http://www.webdesignerwall.com/tutorials/design-watercolor-effect-menu… I have permission to use this stuff, including the 404 page. I honestly dont expect a HN user to use this site, its more geared towards people that havnt got a clue what wordpress or tubmlr is.
