> In my country, VPNs sometimes get blocked. This is why I love* Tunnelbear's[0] GhostBear feature and it uses obfsproxy[1]. Very few VPN providers provide censorship circumvention like that [0] https://www.tunnelbear.com/ [1] https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/TrafficObfuscation [*] No affiliation with Tunnelbear, just thought I would point out this feature

How does this compare to TunnelBear [1]? - TunnelBear is a bit more expensive (4.99$/mo, paid annually vs 4$/mo). - TunnelBear supports up to 5 connections per account vs 2. I use TunnelBear regularly for my browser and phone. Both works great. My subscription is going to expire soon and I'll be open to try other VPN providers, not that there is anything wrong with TunnelBear. Any recommendations? This site [2] has feature comparisons but experience using VPN services is another story. [1] https://www.tunnelbear.com/ [2] https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-section/

I've been using Tunnelbear(https://www.tunnelbear.com/) for a couple of years now and my experience has been fantastic: • It doesn't keep activity logs. • Their tunnel network has been recently improved and it counts something like 20 countries at the moment. • It's really fast and it keeps your device safe even in the possibility of a connection issue, it will block all unsecured traffic until it's possible to properly gain access again. • Something not directly related as a VPN feature but since I have to pay for it I'm more than happily going to underline this, the UI is really really nice, the design is clean, smooth and is one great experience on every device I've been using it on(Android, iOS and Windows).

This looks like a job for Tunnelbear VPN! https://www.tunnelbear.com/ I am huge fan since I starting using it when traveling Europe. The mobile version works great as well.

Living in the US: I've been using tunnelbear (https://www.tunnelbear.com/) to proxy through the UK to watch the BBC streams. NBC is worse than horrible, their commentators rarely understand the sport they are covering, they don't show events they want to cover in 'prime time' and they cut massively short the events they do cover in prime time, often times in order to substitute political bullshit. I would love to pay the BBC to access their content, but there isn't a way to do that. Please BBC, fix this, I'll happily pay you a premium to consume your content, just let me.

https://www.tunnelbear.com/ has been great for me

I had been using PIA [1] for several years and had been quite satisfied. I have never liked Pure VPN - weird ports, and it seemed to disconnect when downloading larger files. But I had their account for almost free for two years. Not extended. TunelBear is cute and easy to use but not configurable on client side. I always appreciated the dedication and innovative approach of CryptoStorm [4]. Steve Gibson specifically recommends TunnelBear because they submitted themselves to a public security audit. https://www.tunnelbear.com/blog/tunnelbear_public_security_audit/ Other than TunnelBear, ProtonVPN is run by the ProtonMail folks and is based out of Switzerland, so they would respond to any foreign subpoena with a polite "fuck off."

Looks like DDG recommends TunnelBear[1]. Any one have an experience with them? I'm always a bit skittish on free VPNs. https://www.tunnelbear.com/b/privacy-partners/

https://www.tunnelbear.com/ gives you 500MB of traffic for free.

Tunnelbear[0] has Vigilant mode[1] that blocks all outgoing connections until you have connected to the VPN server. It was one of the main reasons to start using it. [0] https://www.tunnelbear.com [1] https://www.tunnelbear.com/updates/vigilant/

Came across https://www.tunnelbear.com/ the other day. They seem pretty cool. I've used https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ while traveling abroad. It has worked quite well.

Or you could just download TunnelBear http://www.tunnelbear.com, set it to UK, and go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv/bbc_one_london/watchlive Why go through all that trouble?

I'm not very familiar with TunnelBear but they appear to have instructions on how to connect from GNU/Linux with OpenVPN[0], so you might not even need their proprietary Android app to use their service. [0] https://www.tunnelbear.com/blog/linux_support/

I'll save some of you the task of searching through their FAQ if you want to cancel your account. https://www.tunnelbear.com/account#/remove

https://www.tunnelbear.com/blog/linux_support/ Their Linux support is limited (ie no client), but it is there. You just need to do the configurations (somewhat) manually. Works pretty well when I used it a few months ago on my Mint box.

We have a pretty clear and accessible privacy policy that addresses these issues in detail https://www.tunnelbear.com/privacy-policy/ TL;DR: no logging

Tunnelbear VPN - Blowfish with HMAC-SHA1 https://www.tunnelbear.com/development/encryption/ Seems like a bit of an odd choice for a ciphersuite. I sure hope it's implemented well.
