There is nothing wrong with k8s it is a nice piece of technology.
But the article trending here a couple of days ago describes it well. https://www.theolognion.com/p/company-forgets-why-they-exist-after-11-…
It is complex enough to make the k8s maintainers the heroes of the company. And this is where things tend to go sideways.
It has enough knobs and levers to distract the project from what they are actually trying to achieve.

Thanks, that motivated me to add their rss ( https://www.theolognion.com/feed so people can have 2 clicks less to do)

I honestly can't tell whether the photographs on that blog are stock photos or produced specifically for their corresponding article.

This one is even better:
"Company accidentally increased dev productivity 3x by laying off 20% of middle management"

Thanks, it took me sometime to get that it is a parody/joke :D
I liked this one - Dev realizes he is still in the interview stage after 2 years of work [https://www.theolognion.com/p/dev-realizes-he-is-still-in-the-intervie…
Especially the conclusion:
> Pawri's hope is that the offer will come before his retirement date.

There's more funny on that blog. I particularly liked:

Edit: oh, and how about this one:

They certainly do, somewhere.
It's not against web devs in general, but this "give a man a hammer and every problem looks like a nail" approach to things.
Apps like Canva are unusable for me on my old PC. Many websites too.
I have only about 15GB of mobile data, some websites take like 20 megabytes of my monthly without any fancy video/imagery.

I think you fell for satire. Another one of their articles: https://www.theolognion.com/programmer-invents-non-moving-car-claims-p…
Pretty good satire too I must say.

Regarding your first example, there was this wonderful troll article recently about the Unreal Engine 5 demo: https://www.theolognion.com/unreal-engine-5-is-meant-to-ridicule-web-d…
P.S. Please don't shoot the messenger, I'm just linking it.

It reminds me of this olognion piece:
https://www.theolognion.com/unreal-engine-5-is-meant-to-ridicule-web-d…
That's not just hilarious, that's also pretty close to how I feel most of the time.
I mean, some people have built the Airbus A380.
On the other hand, last week, I created a test DB with the user "test" and the password "test". I couldn't connect to it, and after a long debugging session, noticed I misspelled "test".
So, yeah...
