Though it was a dumb gaff on his part it's not like he is the only CEO type to do this, the executive editor at the NYT did something similar did he not? http://www.theiphoneblog.com/2009/10/26/itablet-leak-assumptive-speak-…

Odd that they'd approve this as an app. Here's the code for free:

melodis.com (the maker of midomi) is a lot more impressive than Shazam.
Here's a brief description about its proprietary search technology.

Here's an article that compare the features of both iPhone apps.

The iPhone OS doesn't allow background processes for third-party apps. So normally Loopt would have no way to update your location except when you open their app. The carrier deal lets them get location data straight from the carrier, whether their app is open or not:

I wonder why they don't just have a 3-year contract?
Update: Looks like others have suggested this. http://www.theiphoneblog.com/2009/06/10/sign-3year-att-contract-iphone…

Apple is adding age based ratings [1] in 3.0. Since that is the case, I would guess that this is an example of content that could be rated appropriately and added to the app store. Personally I support as much artistic freedom as possible. Just rate it appropriately.
