While the general workings were well-known beforehand, there were quite a few surprises here. Especially the out-of-network penalty.

Opening the algorithm might have caused influencers understand better what drives enagagement https://tanay.substack.com/p/understanding-twitters-algorithm. Apparently a reply to a retweet gets a weight of 27, a retweet only 1, a like 0.5 (higher number is better).

Small grocery warehouses used by Instant delivery companies. From this post[1] by Tanay J
A. Dark Stores / Fulfillment Centers
Instant-Delivery Apps operate their own dark stores / fulfillment centers, typically one per neighborhood they operate in. Since these are not meant for consumers, space can be used more efficiently and typically the cost to operate these (at scale) as a percent of revenue is lower than rent space for grocery stores.

As a consumer they're hoping to interest you with better technology, usually a better mobile app experience.
The business model is to partner with a smaller bank and earn credit card like interchange income on debit card transactions due to the Durbin amendment. No other business model needed if you can get a bunch of consumers using a debit card. This applies to U.S. fintech's offering debit cards anyway.

I came across an article recently which talked about how current accounting standards don't portray an accurate picture of many tech companies due to "intangible assets". I wonder if or how much this shows up in the current feeling of many tech stocks bring overpriced?
