You can also check out William Vincent's books [0]. They're easy to read and follow.
A nice blog to also include in your django learning resources bookmarks is Simple is Better than Complex [1].

Everything from https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com
I love his simple and elegant tutorials on very tactical topics.

Yeah I've played around with this approach in the past while prototyping service boilerplates, I think it's viable. I never got it polished enough to publish as a startproject --template and ultimately went with Flask for microservices, so I didn't finish the prototype.
I found this article useful while I was experimenting: https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com/article/2017/08/07/a-minimal-dja…
There are a few different places where little things break and then you need to use an obscure settings.py variable to fix them, which makes me a little nervous since it will cause a little cognitive friction for Django-fluent developers joining your project. But I do think it's worth experimenting with.

I would just add that if you’re new to Django read https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com - there are ton of detailed explanations that go deep in how Django can be extended. It’s definitely not the run of the mill tutorial blog that is only surface level.

try searching for djangogirls and hellowebapp tutorial on google that helped me learn django basic concept in a relative short frame of time two months to be exact, then check out https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com blog posts on various python frameworks implementation and browse through github for various Django projects source code particularly drskepy django hackathon boiler plate.
And if you still have problem with python checkout sololearns app on play store or appstore it was very instrumental for me getting a better grasps on python basics.

I started my blog about python/django (https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com) using Jekyll and hosting on Github Pages and it was pretty good to get started because back then I wasn't sure if I would keep it up or not.
After a year or so I migrated to a 5 USD droplet on Digital Ocean (back then GH Pages didn't offer https for custom domains) and integrated with Github webhooks to automate the deployment when pushing new markdown to the main branch.
Over the time it indeed started to degrade. The build time takes almost a minute, but after building the website is just a bunch of static html pages.
Nowadays it is annoying to write new posts because I like to write locally and refresh to browser to check if it's looking good or not. So I would say it degraded for me but for the reader it's still as fast as it was when there was just a couple of posts.
I thought about migrating the blog to something else, but because I used some custom markdown extensions for code highlight and other things, it would be painful to migrate all the blog posts. So I've been postponing it since 2019.
