While this is very cool, it raises the cost to produce and deliver comics by an order(s) of magnitude. Comics have always been a easy low cost way for artists or even people with just idea's to communicate their ideas. For an extreme example of this http://www.qwantz.com/ Where the ideas are amazing, but he uses the same few cells for ALL of the comics. This comes from someone who has worked with 3D content for years, and I see mesh based 3D as the Ultimate machine in handing power to people with money.

Just recommended the author check out Ryan North's comics: https://twitter.com/ryanqnorth Ryan North's the guy who does Dinosaur Comics (http://www.qwantz.com), and has since been hired to write the Adventure Time comic and the most recent run of Marvel's Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. http://www.themarysue.com/interview-squirrel-girl-ryan-north/ This is how I want to see more people solving this problem: not by trying to shout down the ones responsible (which goads people into defending institutional sexism to shout back in their defense, ugh), but by just doing it right.

Can't believe this ends up as my first HN post, but http://www.everytopicintheuniverseexceptchickens.com/ <3 Ryan North, creator of [Dinosaur Comics](https://qwantz.com).

He's also the author of the incredibly long-running webcomic Dinosaur Comics. https://www.qwantz.com/

Sorta like Dinosaur Comics with user-generated content? I like it! https://www.qwantz.com

> Books for babies and toddlers are pretty much all the same: cute drawings and simple sentences. On some level, they're all goofy and inane. If you're tired of that, I'd highly recommend Happy Dog the Happy Dog: https://topatoco.com/collections/ryan-north/products/qw-happydog-book It's based on this comic: https://qwantz.com/index.php?comic=484

>When a kids says, "Hockey. Meh. It is a bunch grown men with sticks chasing a black piece of rubber around a sheet of ice" When somebody says that, you just have to rephrase them a'la T-Rex. "It's a bunch of scientists stating their hypothesis that they're the best at using wooden sticks to direct the motion of a vulcanized rubber puck across a surface with a friction coefficient of .15!" [1] and then hockey becomes a collaborative science experiment, repeated twice a week, and broadcast on television. [1]: http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=2421

Americans love cars, but not necessarily driving them. I think this pretty well sums up why most people hate it: http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=2587

http://www.qwantz.com/ is pretty interesting as well. the same art every time.

Relevant Dinosaur Comics: http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=1908 It seems like this "treating history as a science" movement that started with Jared Diamond has really caught on...and I love it! Evolution is such a hugely important field for the future, and looking to the past is turning out to be a really fruitful way of learning more about it. Another example I like: how do you determine when humans first started wearing clothing? Trace the timing of the genetic divergence of human hair lice and human body lice (lice require a hairy/furry material, so body lice can't thrive until humans wear clothes). More details: http://news.ufl.edu/2011/01/06/clothing-lice/

See also, this episode of Dinosaur Comics: http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=353 "Any series of 1s and 0s can be converted (quite easily) into a regular number! So, for instance, your favorite song is contained—quite literally—in one single, 4 million digit number."

My favorite treatment of that Garden path sentence, is this Dinosaur Comics strip: http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=204

Go for less text. More http://www.smbc-comics.com less http://www.qwantz.com/. The current template requires way too much. I am pretty sure the technical term is 'excel ninja' and not 'excel kung fu' too. But I guess that was the punchline? I am just confused. Maybe some work place humor? My 1 minute half baked attempt would be something like... "With Query Cell, I've pumped up excel power user level to over 9000! It takes me half the time to run my daily extracts. Now if only I could figure out how to save on this new ribbon feature." Okay, okay okay... I tried!

Comes from Dinosaur Comics for those who liked it. http://www.qwantz.com Took me a while to warm up to the comics, but there's some gold in there, eg: http://www.qwantz.com/archive/001426.html http://www.qwantz.com/archive/001433.html Also, while I'm spouting random and totally subjective opinions about Dinosaur Comic related things, I much prefer this shirt http://www.topatoco.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TO&… to the time travel one, but maybe I'm just a big kid.

I have some accelerationist friends, and I think their views indeed stem from internal conflict. I don't think I have those internal conflicts, and my views oppose theirs quite radically. I believe our greatest art, inventions, and societies still lay ahead of us, and that, eventually, Everything Will Be Okay. They see civilization as an overall evil whose sacrifices are too great to justify and that is poised to end at any moment. (Hyperbolic paraphrasing.) Nevertheless, ambition is dangerous, and wanting (and getting) things, on an individual level, is often a treadmill of misdirected (manufactured?) attempt to seize "happiness". Bhuddism always seemed more enlightened than what we have in the West, imo: eliminating wanting itself is not a bad way to go, sometimes. That comes from cultures that broadly strive for "harmony" and contentment vs. "having the ultimate party". Also, the "adventurer" sounds a little bit like Utahraptor: https://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=14 :p

Dosage seems to be more like a pseudo-RSS-client that relies on scraping cronjobs (for following live content that doesn't have an RSS feed; somewhat like what Dapper used to do) rather than a batch site-mirror-to-single-document transformer. I want this extension not for the new pages just coming out now, but rather to more comfortably go through the ten years of pages of something that have already built up (on my phone with a reflowed mobile layout†, and still available when offline.) Side-note: webcomic authors have realized that there's a market for physical book-prints of their work, but they're ignoring the fact that people like me would gladly buy a digital version of the same book from the Kindle or iBooks store—even though we can read the individual pages online. People are willing to pay for convenience! † And speaking of reflowed mobile layouts, I wish every webcomic reflowed the way Dinosaur Comics does (http://qwantz.com/index.php?mobile=1). It wouldn't work for those special "frame-boundary-breaking" art techniques, but most comics don't even use those.

Hot take #1: We don't need more Sherlock Holmes stories in the original style. Doyle already wrote so many that the premise has been exhaustively explored (and Doyle knew that). Hot take #2: Dinosaur Comics is currently the high water mark for Sherlock Holmes parody, and I would be astonished if any sort of "language model" could generate its equal: https://qwantz.com/index.php?comic=3228 https://qwantz.com/index.php?comic=2914 https://qwantz.com/index.php?comic=3586 https://qwantz.com/index.php?comic=3926

http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=3086 (I mean, I'd totally read that, too) But yeah, I really enjoyed reading Paradise Lost; I mean, I read everything on the kindle, but I think I need to find a nice bound edition that includes Dore's illustrations.

Okay, that ship is sinking. Time to burn it; Facebook has long outlived the usual online social network lifetime. What's the next one we jump to this time? http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=3240
