> But the fact is, Android has plenty of market share.
The point you're missing is that not all market share is created equal in terms of revenue potential. There could be absolute billions of users on Android but it doesn't really matter if they're unwilling to pay for anything. And that's largely been the case--it's well documented at this point that iOS users are vastly more willing to spend money on apps by practically a 2:1 margin, and generally have a higher net-worth that advertisers like to target. [1]
So since this is inherently about the ROI, it frankly doesn't even matter if Android users do care about the user experience as much as iOS users do. Objectively Meta (or any company) is not going to throw investment at a platform that doesn't pay it back at a rate competitive with iOS. Like this just makes sense. Sure, you could maybe goose ROI on Android with some better investment, but if you'd make more back applying those same resources to your iOS team then it's a pretty open and shut case, right?
And so that's how we end up in a place where users have to choose what matters to them. And on balance Android has a lot of other things going for it that might be more important for a lot of people. But to me general app quality does make sense as part of the explanation for iOS market share increasing during a time of free-flowing stimulus checks, as you pointed out. If you have some extra money to splurge, it might make a lot of sense to buy that more expensive…

That is really the cringe bit… If “web3” is “decentralised”, how could “web4” powered by AI which most of the LLM model currently are hosted in a centralised server? It seems contradictory by definition, and that “web4” are just basically Web 2.0 with AI features…
I basically just read that website the post referred to, sounds like AI slop to me: https://www.netguru.com/blog/web-4-0?ref=protein.xyz

> they aren't being used by 80% of the world's population.
I said "iPhone is more appealing to 80%+ of world's population". I didn't say everyone who wants it can afford it.
It's pure speculation, of course, but given its current market share (27% of all devices sold) and its price point, I don't think it's too far fetched to say that its market share would be much higher if price wasn't an issue for people. This is somewhat hinted by the fact that it has a 78% market share in the $1,000+ segment [1], and most iPhone models are over $1K.
Also it still ships more phones than any other single vendor (unless you lump all Android phones into one bucket). In terms of revenue, it's by far the leader with 43% [2].

I think you make a fair point but on the other hand I don’t see many “top 20 alternatives to http in 2022” articles (which implies there are more than 20 alternatives) like we have for front end technologies.

Laravel comes with Laravel Elixir and it uses webpack2 since version 5.5.
Both frameworks have huge communities. The laravel community has seen a huge growth lately. I'm not sure it's an advantage anymore. In fact the popularity has grown in favour of laravel. https://www.netguru.co/hs-fs/hubfs/image1-4.png?t=1535725104549&wi…
Comparing php to ruby php is clearly faster

I get the feeling that laravel has surpassed rails.

I agree with you, it’s an honest question.
You might find here [0] some answers. Just the Alibaba sphere is enormous I guess.

FAQ: What's different to Realm?
Simpler to use with POJOs, no threading constraints. Relations can be eagerly loaded to prepare everything in the background.
