Looks lovely. But their comparison with apple and google (https://medium.com/transit-app/transit-maps-apple-vs-google-vs-us-cb3d… is missing something: "works on a desktop computer". I have a surface 3 pro with chrome/firefox/edge installed, I'd love if there were some html5 web view onto this for planning trips in advance, where I quite like the larger screen size and the ability to screenshot/print just in case.

>"Fortunately, because the MTA has exposed the live schedule data, Google Maps lets you check this (sadly, it isn't 100% reliable: oftentimes a train will claim to have arrived somewhere, or even be departing from a station, while it's still getting there)." Yes and the issue is that the MTA doesn't make the service disruption data available. See: https://medium.com/transit-app/how-were-bringing-real-time-countdowns-… Why wouldn't you make this data available? Why stop short? Most likely because it would expose just how many unplanned maintenance disruptions there actually are.

transit (the company) has some really nice blog posts about the difficulty of making transit maps https://medium.com/transit-app/transit-maps-apple-vs-google-vs-us-cb3d… https://medium.com/transit-app/how-we-built-the-worlds-prettiest-auto-…

I'm not sure if it is in your region, but Transit [0] recently blew me away. A ton of attention to detail and work put in, check out the blog post they had on HN recently about their autogeneration algorithms [1]. It's much more entertaining and useful to read about the overhaul from Transit itself: https://medium.com/transit-app/transit-4-0-is-now-live-2329f60fb3bb
