True, but we need to ask valid questions like "Why do we have a bunch of diversity in this vector, but not this other vector? If tech was fundamentally intolerant of diversity in general like many claim, wouldn't we lack diversity in all vectors? Why causes might contribute to the disparity between these two diversity vectors with different representations? Overall, I rarely if ever see anyone arguing for diversity asking hard questions like "Why are there many Asians and Indians even though there aren't many Women, Hispanics/Latinos and Black people?". What are these successful identity groups doing differently that is affording them much success in being well represented or even over represented? How might the under represented groups adopt the same approaches to achieve the same success? I'm not saying that we shouldn't solve unconscious bias as well, but I'm less inclined to first consider solutions that address unconscious bias if those solutions are proposed by someone who hasn't also considered other explanations and solutions because they aren't applying the null hypothesis in their thought process. Also, how about some multi-variate analysis to determine which factors most greatly contribute to the diversity gap for each underrepresented group? We can't adequately fix what we don't measure and I really don't see a lot of measurement going on. For example, all successful startups understand and apply concepts of a user acquisition funnel and pipeline, but then…

the post has everything to do with men here. As a woman, HN is a really unfriendly place. Of all the places- and all the traction that my post "VCs don't compare me to your wife" got. HN was the only forum where I got attacked and trolled mercilessly https://medium.com/life-tips/vcs-don-t-compare-me-to-your-wife-just-do…

I don't think it's equivalent to 3-5 cigarettes. An 18% increase isn't the same when the incidence rate on colorectal cancer starts off so low compared to lung cancer. This article is one that got posted on HN a while back. https://medium.com/life-tips/processed-meats-as-bad-as-cigarettes-bad-…

I have adhd and I suffer the same problems! I am currently in university (IT-Networking security), I do use medication and meditation. I find that motivation is the hardest part of everything even with the medication! This helps with my motivation: http://lifehacker.com/281626/jerry-seinfelds-productivity-secret Become a Morning Person: https://medium.com/life-tips/621b93619b30 Quick tips(things that help me): - 43 folders method of organization - Actively tell your self when you forget or procrastinate, its normal just get back on track and smile - Make habits through repetition (spend that time regardless if you are able to do it or not) - Your will power is finite make sure have small meals and a snack half way through each to keep energy up - Making decisions is very tiring, so be forgiving - Make everything smaller- if you can reduce the information the easier it is for you in the future - Always tell yourself: it is easy, it will take no time, get a little done, you don't have to finish it just start it - Have a beer or do something else like watching tv while trying to start a new habit or task, even though you won't get much done you have done more that you would have with out it! Sorry if my grammar is terrible, or if this wasn't what you where looking for! It really helped me out to list it all :D
