Localytics: http://www.localytics.com
We dogfood it all the way, so definitely every day for our own needs. We analyze the performance, event breakdown, engagement stats, funnels, and everything about our analytics dashboard within our own analytics dashboard. Traditionally we do analytics/marketing for the mobile space, but it works great for web as well.
We also have a couple of people on the mobile team who launched an iPhone app for tracking the Boston subway: http://proximitapp.com/. They of course use Localytics for their analytics and in-app and push marketing and gave us great feedback.
We've learned a ton from real-world use of our app in both contexts. Dogfooding really is invaluable for us.

A friend co-founded http://www.localytics.com/ who have a real-time solution in this space. It is free so worth a try though I haven't tried it myself.

Backend/Big Data Engineer - Boston, MA
http://www.localytics.com [email protected]
Critical Role to help us architect our Big Data solutions. The backend's team primary language is Scala, however we write a lot of ruby as well.
You will work on our data processing pipeline and internal APIs which handle hundreds of gigabytes every day from millions of phones. This is a chance to work on challenges of scale in a motivated, fast growing team. This is an important role that will have a significant impact on the direction of our product and technology.
We value passion and ability over experience so while we are looking for candidates who have a background in big data and distributed systems, we are willing to invest in a team member with a passion for learning. Saying that, here are some requirements:
* Bachelors in Computer Science / related field or equivalent work experience
* Experience with some or all of the following: Amazon Web Services, Analytics, Big Data, Chef, Distributed Systems, Hadoop, MongoDB, Scala
* A focus on scaling horizontally rather than vertically
* Passion for and ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
* Ability to learn quickly and work independently
* An understanding of data structures
* Ability to reason about performance tradeoffs

I’m a huge admirer or well crafted cli apps, they can massively boost the effectiveness of a team.
An oldie but goodie here: https://eng.localytics.com/exploring-cli-best-practices/

I didn't know that app analytics was such a big business. Is this because you recently acquired distimo and you are cutting the slack?
Sounds interesting, how much do you think you would be willing to sell it for? I am not sure I am really interested in buying it really. How does it compare to some of the competitors: http://www.flurry.com/ or http://www.localytics.com/ or http://www.mixpanel.com/ or http://www.upsight.com/?
"It's hard to sell it, but I think it will allow me to focus on other areas a bit better."
What do you plan to work on next?

Hello Eli..
Thanks for ur comment.
The enterprise market is huge and as the mobile app grows, they will be looking at seeing how they can get more ROI from their mobile apps..
We want to become something like compete for mobile apps http://www.compete.com/
And I consider it more of a product as they will have to continually monitor their status in the app industry.
http://localytics.com/ provides in-app analytics.
We want to provide a benchmarking tool...

If you mean gathering data from mobile devices my answer is:
Any cloud-based app or any mobile app that has a cloud component can leverage the RESTful API.
Also see, http://www.localytics.com/ for a vanilla mobile analytics solution.
If your question is 'is the dashboard mobile device viewable' then:
Not really. Most of the javascript that powers the dashboard isn't touch-screen compatible, sadly.

Localytics | Boston, MA | Full-Time | Onsite | https://www.localytics.com/
Localytics is "a mobile engagement platform that provides data aggregation and analytics tools to build stronger user relationships for enterprise clients." Big clients like ESPN, Verizon, and other name brand companies you've probably heard of use our tools for mobile app tracking and engagement. We are a smaller engineering team than you'd think, so you'll have a big impact if you want to push the product in a certain direction.
We're currently hiring for two positions in the engineering department. I work on the Mobile Engineering team where we manage both our Android and iOS SDKs; so if you have questions on the first position feel free to PM/ask me!
- Senior Mobile Software Engineer: https://www.localytics.com/company/careers/job/?job-id=1554428
- Director of Information Security: https://www.localytics.com/company/careers/job/?job-id=1845534

So it looks like the requests go to profile.localytics.com which is the API used for https://www.localytics.com/profiles/.
So not used for performance, but instead "A people-centered and personalized approach to app marketing and analytics". I am not sure if this is better or worse.

I work at Localytics (www.localytics.com) and suggest you give us a try -- and we already work with other app libraries like yours.
Our solution is built for apps analytics, our SDKs are open source (go directly to the SDK: http://www.localytics.com/docs/), there's no advertising conflict of interest, and there are both free and upgraded plans available depending on your needs. More details and a full demo are available on our website.

According to some sources, it looks like iOS 5 adoption is up to 1/3 of eligible devices:

Maybe things have changed in the last several months, but:
"94.2% of iPhone users plan to buy an iPhone for their next phone, improving upon last year's rate of 93%."
"Android phones were measured at a re-buy rate of 60%, up from 47% last year."
(Source: http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/07/17/piper-jaffray-80-million-iphone…
"Delving deeper into the retention and user metrics, iPhone and iPad users are 52% more loyal to their apps than Android users. A healthy 35% of Apple iOS users launched an app more than 10 times after downloading, compared to 23% of Android users."
(Source: http://www.localytics.com/blog/2012/app-user-loyalty-increasing-ios-be…
"Google paid App devs approximately $320 million through end of January. At that time Apple reported it had paid out $4 billion."
(Source: https://twitter.com/asymco/status/199127829550612481)
I'm finding conflicting numbers on mobile browser share, but none of them are making the iPhone look particularly weak either.
----
I see two scenarios that could theoretically actually hurt Apple (not just in a slowed growth kind of way, but by actually causing their revenue to fall): iPhone users ditch the platform for something else they like better, or another platform becomes more lucrative to develop for, causing developers to abandon the iOS App Store and leading users to abandon the iPhone over the lack of new and updated apps.
From the bits of data I can dig up, that doesn't…

We're a funded, revenue generating startup located just blocks away from MIT. Our business is mobile application analytics. Our positions offer competitive salary/equity. We are highly flexible on the ratio. Positions include:
* Back-end Software Developer – Big Data
We're built on Scala, MongoDB, Hadoop, and more. We're looking for a person to add to our data processing team. We process tons of data already, so you'll get to work on a team tackling true challenges of scale. There are lots of opportunities to grow into leadership roles as we build out the team.
* Front-end Software Developer – Ruby on Rails
We are looking for a talented software developer to build new customer-facing features and own the underlying code for our Ruby on Rails service UI. Ideally this person will become the point person for front-end development, so experience with project management is a huge plus.
