Actually, I think businessmen, generally wealthy private citizens and also famous celebrities wanting to avoid the spotlight more commonly fly on private jets than politicians, at least in the USA.
It's tough flying back and forth to your home state almost every week and maybe not seeing your family very much, and often they tell the airlines in advance to reserve seats on more than one flight to ensure they make it home. This talks about how it's not as luxurious as it might sound:

There is a lot of info online about the travel allowances members of Congress in the USA have:

I didn't know it was a recent change that began allowing Senators to use their allowance to book private:

When there is a general expectation that these people spend a lot of time in both DC and their home where the people they represent are living, I'm not sure how you get around their need to be able to pay for all that traveling. It's part of our expectations in how they do their job. If you want to pick on someone, probably best to focus on the list at the beginning of my comment, but honestly, many of them have compelling reasons, e.g. no one is hassling you or me everywhere we go because half of the people in the country recognize us. :)

Randomly picked Hawaiian airlines to see what mechanical failures their aircraft have had and I get this list:
- Most recent in 2023: significant problems and disruptions due to problems with the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines in their A320neo aircraft - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pratt_%26_Whitney_PW1000G
- Mid-air diversions: several Hawaiian Airlines flights forced to divert to different airports due to mechanical problems. One example is Flight 383 from Honolulu to Kauai and had to return to Honolulu shortly after takeoff due to unspecified issues - https://liveandletsfly.com/hawaiian-airlines-lax-diversion/
- 1994: Flight 481 experience complete hydraulic system failure en route from Maui to Honolulu - https://archives.starbulletin.com/2000/12/25/news/story3.html
etc.

The linked opinion is an opinion piece, one person’s analysis, which does not even reprint the Pilot’s Union Statement.
This article does reprint it. You might want to skim to that statement to both hear the other side and also to answer your question.

But bottom line, the pilots are holding all the cards because there is no legal basis to require a recording. If the NTSB wants an interview, their only choice is to ditch the recordings. One can draw their own conclusions about why the NTSB is choosing not to interview instead.

In response to such events, pilots often write confident yet misinformed sounding articles such as this - https://liveandletsfly.com/airline-automation/

I think it's self-selecting: the ones who fear flying won't fly no matter how many seats are aboard, and the ones who don't, don't care so much about the social distancing. Consider United's new aspirational social distancing program [1] where they don't do anything but block seat selection until check-in, so you can see who's next to you when you do, I think. It's such a non-policy it's kind of unclear.

Too well written, too human, too considerate to be a FSB Whistleblower. At least a real agent not just a regular business analyst. So strong indications of a fake.
The analysis of world hunger is not supported by this current analysis, even if Russian and Ukraine are leading grain producers. The analysis will be updated as the conflict drags on.
