Co-Founder of Koyeb [1] here, we provide an alternative that you might want to check. Didn’t officially launch yet - feedback welcome! 1: http://koyeb.com/

As an app backend guy, it's always fun to dive into infrastructure stuff like this that I know little about. Naively, it looks like they pieced together some K8s alternatives. I saw they wrote about why they moved away from K8s here: https://www.koyeb.com/blog/the-koyeb-serverless-engine-from-kubernetes… Usually when blog posts like these come out other K8s practitioners say their K8s was just misconfigured. Would love to see more opinions from K8s folks on the assumptions & design decisions.

This war was over around about the time I started, but my take on it is that it's all a bit intermixed and Mercurial lost because bitbucket caved and did git hosting [2], but git won beacuse of github and heroku [1][2] [1] https://www.koyeb.com/blog/herokus-free-tier-legacy-the-shoulders-we-s… [2] https://blog.gitbutler.com/why-github-actually-won/
