Yeah, it's not set up for https. Do you see the same thing with http://www.jonathanturner.org/?

There is an exception-like mechanism in Rust, in the form of the "try!" macro. It's a lot more flexible, but somewhat more verbose (Haskell has the same mechanism in a way that looks a lot more like exceptions, so that's not an inherent flaw). The best explanation I've seen is this:
http://www.jonathanturner.org/2015/11/learning-to-try-things-in-rust.h…
tl;dr: "Result"s are like exceptions which are caught by default. You can (explicitly) propagate them upwards by using try!(...). This is nice because it means that you can tell what exceptions can occur in a block of code only using "local" information.

As far as "using it in a substantial portion of their product", dunno.

Perhaps this link would explain it more clearly: [1].
Leg-day is bodybuilding terminology, and refers to the day of the week when the bodybuilder is supposed to be training the leg muscles. According to the meme, nobody wants to train the legs because they show the least.

I'm not on Twitter, and so cannot contact Jonathan Turner (whose website this list of facts is on). On this page, some of the links to the Rust Survey results are broken - they have a prefix of jonathanturner.org and have the actual survey results link within parentheses. [1] They should be corrected to link to the Rust Survey Results. [2]

Thanks. This is helpful. I guess part of what I'm wondering is how much Kotlin interfaces compare to Scala traits in the sense explained here:
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Scala/Traits
Or, in another example, how does use of Rust impl map onto Kotlin?
http://www.jonathanturner.org/2016/02/down-the-rabbit-hole-with-traits…
I really don't mean this as a criticism of Kotlin, I'm just trying to map this all out. Kotlin seems nice and like something I could use, but I'm sure it has its boundaries also.

And note that if you're using rustup to manage your toolchain, you can now use it to install and manage RLS for you as well: http://www.jonathanturner.org/2017/04/rls-now-in-nightly.md.html

A rust beginner could also look at Jonathan Turner's lessons from solving first 12 Project Euler problems.
