Definitely a huge improvement over the stock Android player. Another player worth checking out is Cubed (an exponent "3") http://jkontherun.com/2010/03/30/android-music-player-cubed/
A few things I miss coming from Cubed are the ability to queue to the current playlist and last.fm integration.

I know it's not a 'medical device' (at least in current iteration) but have you read about the FDA taking a look at app stores? http://jkontherun.com/2010/08/31/fda-has-app-stores-under-surveillance…

Getting more common every day. Clearwire is covering 1/3 of the population now and offers a small hotspot device.

You have to root your phone, once you do there is an application available for this.

tether software: http://jkontherun.com/2009/03/21/pdanet-for-android-tether-your-g1-to-…
One of the tethering apps at least.

Thanks for the heads-up. A 5-inch e-ink touch screen is a novelty - I believe only larger Sony and iRex models have it.
A search on "Samsung reader SNE-50K" yielded a few good short notices - seems it's only S.Korea for now, priced at USD 274, in line with other 5 or 6 inch e-ink readers.
P.S. The note at jkOnTheRun (http://jkontherun.com/2009/07/27/samsung-sne-50k-e-book-reader-and-not… with stylus photo) ends with a fully deserved barb:
"The Samsung reader features no wireless capability, unlike Amazon’s Kindle. Maybe that might be a good thing to protect reader’s content."
