If you’re not up for DIY, I’ve been using a unit from https://www.invisible-computers.com/ for years and I love it. Not affiliated; just a happy customer.

This is a pretty cool project. (I backed it too :-)) The really interesting bit has been watching the development of the FPGA driver. That really de-mystified a lot of stuff about 'waveforms' and 'grey levels' for me with this technology. I'm hoping that if this gets funded we'll also get some 3D printable picture frames for this tech. I'll put it up next to my invisible computer[1] and have my complete day at a glance :-)

The InkyFrame is nice but I prefer the eInk frame from HN user konschubert:

I have one of these which is basically what you describe. Marketing materials focus on the Google calendar integration but you can also feed it images via a URL which it polls regularly.

Konstantin Schubert has created a wider E-Ink Smart Screen: https://www.invisible-computers.com/

Someone on HN was manufacturing one that showed your Google Calendar:

> no details on SDK.
The "develop your own content" link on the top page links to:

I guess being able to display custom images is a plus, but I am not sure I would call that a SDK.

I am so happy to have discovered this here. I've wanted this product for years.
I just placed an order for the coworking space I run in Brighton, UK.
Super excited about all the potential applications of this. The simplicity of the developer experience[1] is exactly what I want.
Seems like it will also work wonderfully with the screenshot api[2] I'm currently working at.

To be fair:
1. His project does allow rendering any HTML: https://www.invisible-computers.com/programmable-e-paper-screen.html
2. It is in stock. :) Raspberry Pi Zero 2 and the waveshare displays are in a bit of a stock crunch, and the frame I ended up mounting this in, along with the special flat USB cable, pushed the project cost to the same price. It's my own aEsTheTic tho.

You could at least disclaim that you are the CEO, at least on your HN profile.
