So, shouldn't this be flagged? Any article that offends the sensitivities of the wing-nut mode of the highly bi-modal community is immediately flagged. Such as the recent article by the resident of Sri Lanka during it's civil war. https://indi.ca/i-lived-through-collapse-america-is-already-there/ https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44121939 But somehow, traditional warfare news seems totally fine, despite the fact that this has nothing to do with tech, or vulture capital. There really needs to be an "unflag" link for posts, to allow both sides of the "flag vs don't flag" debate to be represented.

Which government are you talking about? Like the US banned tiktok because Israel did not like it [1]? Let us be honest here.. China censors directly. US censors indirectly through the private companies [2] and through covert use of force [3]. If you had a pro-Russian stance in 2022 or pro-Palestine stance, you will see your content censored in very subtle ways in US. 1. https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/tiktok-ban-fueled-by-israel-not-chin… 2. https://indi.ca/why-i-left-medium-they-defenestrated-me/ 3. https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/the-fbi-knocked-on-my-door It is surprising how people in US cannot see the disinformation campaign they are being subjected to.

It's a blog written by a tankie who has written at length about how Israel will be destroyed by 2027 [0]. Irrespective of your stance on the very complex and morally grey Israel-Palestine issue, it's proof enough that the author doesn't really have domain knowledge on defense, IR, and policy. Also, his examples about Saudi fall apart very quickly. For example, "Saudi sells oil to the USA, which pays for it in USD. Saudi doesn't know what to do with this USD, so it buys US Treasuries". KSA has plenty of uses of USD outside of buying treasuries. That same USD they collect is what the KSA in turn uses in it's FDI globally, to purchase Eurofighters (the KSA has largely moved away from American systems because of Obama-era limits on ethical constraints of weapon systems), and develop domestic infra. Or "The most expensive weapons in the world won't even subdue the poorest people". Weapons don't win wars. This is the same reason the US lost in Vietnam, the USSR lost in Afghanistan, and KSA lost in Yemen. The reality is no one cared enough to put enough boots on the ground in Yemen (excluding Abu Dhabi), and UAE stole KSA's thunder by completely co-opting the Southern leadership in Yemen to be their vassals [1]. This annoyed the KSA as they basically were fighting a war but UAE got much in the benefits, leading to their rift [2] along with KSA ending their war in Yemen There is a case to be made about regional powers increasingly gaining capabilities that can help give them…

The Last Supper in 1993[4,5], is the likely root cause of all of this, in my opinion. It lead to the "feeding frenzy", a series of mergers. Its my understanding that the actual "crushing blow" for Boeing was the merger with McDonnell-Douglas[1] in 1997, and the profit über alles management style[2] that they were infected with as a result.[3] [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_Douglas [2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late_capitalism [3] https://indi.ca/the-boeing-737-max-and-the-crash-of-capitalism/ [4] https://www.wbur.org/onpoint/2023/03/01/the-last-supper-how-a-1993-pen… [5] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Supper_(Defense_industry)
