I dunno, these designs feel very "2001 ad agency microsite" to me. Nothing post-web-2.0 about them, more like pre-web-2.0. This is what happened when you take your best print designers and set them loose on the web. How do you suppose those sites render once you much with text size? Usability/web standards did not suddenly go out of vogue, did they? Ooo, the original presentation has much more actual content: http://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/archive/2007/destroy-the-web-20-look-f…

I have a similar philosophy, inspired by Elliot J. Stocks [0] I want the beefiest small computer for out of office use while at the same time the beefiest computer for in office use. So for the past decade, I've been using the 11" MBA -> 12" rMB for my mobile computer, while my office machines have been the 2012 Mac Mini -> 2018 Mac Mini -> Mac Studio Max. The rMB has definitely been getting long in the tooth and I've been waiting for the M2 MBA. [0]: https://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/a-cloud-centric-mac-set-up

> even Internet Explorer used Knuth-Plass to justify text I haven’t heard of this before, and I don’t believe it’s at all correct. Searching, I’m finding only https://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/justification-hyphenation/ to be relevant: “Internet Explorer, which seems to use the Knuth / Plass algorithm, or an approximation of it, enabled through the text-justify: newspaper CSS property.” `text-transform: newspaper` is nothing like Knuth-Plass: rather, it was what is currently spelled `text-transform: inter-character`, which is a terrible idea for English.

Thanks for sharing. For nearly 10 years I managed and engineered a large e-commerce site. I learned a ton in the process. These posts always hurt. I feel the pain. Also, reminds me of this post a while back - http://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/good-riddance-paypal/ "PayPal have all the power of a bank and yet none of the responsibility."
