Theory, Evolution, and Games Group
egtheory.wordpress.com · Group blog · on HN since 2013
A group blog on evolutionary game theory, mathematical modeling and theoretical biology, covering topics like cancer dynamics and computation in biology.
What HN saysHN links it in discussions of voting, collective wisdom, game theory and Moloch-style coordination problems; commenters cite its posts on the iterated prisoner's dilemma and entropic forces.

In voting parity matters. In some cases, effects are interesting - like in some cases if the mafia/werewolf game, when adding a citizen/villager decreses their winning chance by sqrt(pi/2), vide https://arxiv.org/abs/1009.1031
When it comes to the wisdom of crowds, see https://egtheory.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/two-heads-are-better-than-on…

I'm assuming you're referring to something like this: https://egtheory.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/ipd/
I think we shouldn't confuse efficient strategies with the chosen strategies. What causes Moloch is the inability to see the big picture, to see outside of the self in the collective (maybe Buddhism has a point).
An efficient strategy may very well be something we'd prefer, such as tit-for-tat. But is that the strategy we choose? Looking at the long history of evolution, I'd say no.
