Worth noting a year ago VW AG CEO Herbert Diess was let go: https://dailykanban.com/2022/07/24/volkswagens-hallwayradio-on-the-die… Some further opinions from last year: https://twitter.com/BertelSchmitt/status/1550859623670095879 And another tweet I remember about cariad and rumors around it: https://twitter.com/itskyleconner/status/1549432590553288706

if it is the 2010 article it was a bit ridiculous by bringing up every anti bailout reference possible to take away from a vehicle and comparing it to other cars when it was really a first of its kind; an EV with a REX. I own a 2nd generation Volt and love it, never really cared for the styling or interior of the first generation but mostly because the range of the first attempt fell short of my needs. My current Volt solves both my problems, I have the ability to go all electric on my commute of 54 miles round trip if not 10 more in summer. I can go any long distance trip I want and not worry about being stranded or having to wait an hour or more for a recharge even 200 less miles. https://dailykanban.com/2010/07/g-m-s-electric-lemon/

Since I've seen this mentioned a few times in the comments, it's worth noting: Tesla did not expose the identity of the customer who had the suspension problem. Edward Niedermayer is a blogger who uncovered a post on a car forum[1] and then made hay out of it[2] causing some national media to report about it. Tesla was merely commenting that this blogger has a pretty clear anti-Tesla bias in his other writing. If anyone's responsible for exposing the customer to scrutiny, it's Niedermayer (who linked to the semi-anonymous forum post and turned it into a media story). 1: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/suspension-problem-on-model-s.… 2: http://dailykanban.com/2016/06/tesla-suspension-breakage-not-crime-cov…

The site is wrong about the Fremont plant being exempted as detailed here: https://dailykanban.com/2016/09/29/docs-reveal-teslas-production-capac… (With things like…links to their permit applications, I.e., sources)

Ok lemme slow down and do it one at a time. Remember the battery swap scandal? There were many articles written about it.[0] Turns out it was a conscious scam by Tesla to increase its vehicle credits[1] I've got more, but I think I'd have better luck taking it one at a time so I'll wait... The first "exposé" is enough to discredit this person. > The "exposé": https://dailykanban.com/2016/06/08/tesla-suspension-breakage-not-crime… > Tesla's response: https://www.tesla.com/blog/grain-of-salt Keep in mind too, that this blogger gave us the totally unbiased “Tesla Death Watch” blogpost.

This article caused me to become very bearish on Tesla. https://dailykanban.com/2017/12/go-production-hell-went-production-hea… Not on EVs in general, but just on their ability to actually outpace delivering the market (without killing anyone) before the old guard caught on and gets there first. Not a novel thought, but the factory analysis really put the nail in the coffin for me.

Tesla originally planned to run two production lines but had to drop to a single one, and they're doing it in an expensive and unusual manner, and a second won't fit in their fremont plant, and they still plan to build out the second line in the same unusual 'cold' manner. This leads me to expect it's reasonable their burn will continue at the same rate. Furthermore, it's estimated they won't reach 3k a week till the end of 2018. https://dailykanban.com/2017/10/source-tesla-responsible-model-3-produ…

Do VW's numbers include their self-registrations, which make up 30% of their "sales"? Explanation: http://dailykanban.com/2014/05/that-car-filled-test-track-actually-was… (towards the end).

Some of Edward Niedermayer recently written article titles in bloomberg [1]: - Worker Discontent Makes Tesla a Union Target - Tesla Needs More Than Elon Musk - Tesla Will Get Trampled by the Mass Market - Tesla's Radical Update Is Just More of the Same - Tesla Has to Start Acting Like a Car Company - Tesla Stock Shifts Into 'Insane Mode' [negative] - The Empire Strikes Back at Tesla - Why Tesla Has a Target on Its Back - ... And the original cited in teslamotors.com: http://dailykanban.com/2016/06/tesla-suspension-breakage-not-crime-cov… It seems that yes, we should take a grain of salt and a lot more. There's definitely something fishy going on here. [1] http://www.bloomberg.com/view/contributors/ARwBOWvU7QI/edward-niederme…

Looking at all the blog posts that blogger Edward Niedermeyer wrote on his blog [1] I can't find a single positive thing he ever said about Tesla, it looks like he has some obligation to just write all the negativity he can come up with. [1] - http://dailykanban.com/author/bjorn/

Just saw a news reports attributing the drop to the Model S being brought back, so they are all just guessing. Article has zero details so just in case you actually want to know http://dailykanban.com/2016/06/tesla-suspension-breakage-not-crime-cov… There are a grand total of three reports of suspension problems they could find (and their deep reporter research consists of using google search apparently). But of course there may be many more under NDA, who knows.

Read this related article, one of the most interesting I've read about Tesla I've seen. It talks specifically about this swap facility. Basically this one charging centre allows Tesla to claim hundreds of millions of dollars of electric vehicle government-funded rebates due to a condition of the rebates. If this centre is in fact powered by diesel, that's a whole new level of irony. http://dailykanban.com/2015/05/analysis-understanding-teslas-potemkin-… It mentions how Tesla is able to maximise it's electric car rebates by making at least one centre that can offer a fast swap capability, even though practically all (or all but one) of their customers do not and can not charge cars this way. Having a fast recharge was a key requirement to qualify for the rebates.
