I agree, if it had been from DPReview perhaps. Their phone camera reviews are excellent, http://connect.dpreview.com/post/7518611407/apple-iphone5s-smartphone-…

Who are "tbreak.ae"? That's not a very insightful review. Many better known sites like DPReview.com think that the Lumia 1020 has the best smartphone camera: http://connect.dpreview.com/post/5234892048/nokia-lumia-1020-camera-re…

The Snapshot Serengeti project is trying to do something along the lines of NASA Clickworkers: to use groups of amateurs to "identify the thousands of animal photographs collected from 225 motion-activated cameras in the nature preserve": http://connect.dpreview.com/post/3745415348/sanpshot-serengeti-crowdso… It's a lot of fun and it feels great to contribute to a noble project. Plus it's surprisingly addictive: http://www.snapshotserengeti.org/

Yes, of course. I'm not saying that SLRs don't have a place. If you're a wedding photographer, you probably shouldn't bring your iPhone to the job. But the post I replied to took it to the point of absurdity, where people questioned whether these were really "cameras", and you either have the fools amazed by their crummy results, or the pros who see through that ruse. That is nonsense. I've owned a number of SLRs through the years, back to a 35MM Minolta 9xi with a number of lenses. I am amazed at what is possible with smartphones, and constantly surprised at the very good shots they yield. Further, just to put this into perspective, an iPhone 6 or a recent Lumia, with its tiny little sensor and tiny little lens, has attributes that beat out God like SLRs from just a few years ago. Those cameras were pro quality, best of the best then, but now the devices that beat them aren't worth calling cameras? http://connect.dpreview.com/post/5533410947/smartphones-versus-dslr-ve…

That is awesome! But I think he meant the RAW image that hasn't still been debayered or saved in a lossy 8bit format (jpg) It made the news last year but I guess hasn't still landed? For post processing, the RAW is so much more useful than a jpg http://connect.dpreview.com/post/2707133307/google-android-api-camera-…

Did anyone notice that there's an Android phone with a 2/3" camera sensor? That's larger than in the PowerShot S110. http://connect.dpreview.com/post/9705313773/sony-xperia-z1-camera-revi… Hardly a lost year in smartphones.
