There is also json2tsv [1] that follows a similar philosophy and I have had some fun combining it with awk(1) recently for database ingestion.

I had no issues with sfeed, you can get it from https://codemadness.org

Sfeed: https://codemadness.org/sfeed-simple-feed-parser.html
It's better and more customizable than Newsboat, plus there is an option to transfer everything from the Newsboat to it. It is not really a reader but a parser, but that's what makes it great.

it’s built with stagit: https://codemadness.org/stagit.html
Love the minimal style and monospace font!

sfeed is the greatest! [1]
The reason I couldn't stick with other feed aggregators in the past is because of the perpetual accumulation of the unread count. The output of sfeed_html is just links [2]. No unread counts. I can remember whether I've read something or not.
Just stick it on a server, run as a cronjob, and you have your new browser homepage. And if you want to move your "database" it's just a directory of tsv files. Brilliant.

There is stagit as well, but it does not support branches:

Does Pgit support branches?

For the hell of it I cut-n-pasted your original post into Google's AI mode which all of a sudden got really good in the last few weeks, particularly for the kind of question that you were asking where you are trying to find something that you saw a while back. It said
Based on your description, the project you likely saw on Hacker News was stagit. It is known for creating an extremely minimal, bare-bones website for a Git repository by generating static HTML pages. https://codemadness.org/stagit.html
It strikes me as pretty similar to your link! I have found many cases like "Is Strike Witches a kemonomimi anime?" where the site summary gives the wrong answer and the new AI mode gives the right answer.

I don't see why my point is that hard to see: the "do one thing" part of the UNIX philosophy is a good ideal to aim for, even if often ignored in favour of a more convenient kitchen sink approach. I then just mentioned that a good majority of these useful Rust tools (I really like hyperfine and oxipng, for example) don't seem to care much about it.
Some example of that idea I use every day is https://codemadness.org/sfeed-simple-feed-parser.html, where feed parsing, serialization and visualization are completely separated in small orthogonal binaries with very few options. It could have been one fat "sfeed" or something like its newsboat instead. (shilling it a bit more there: https://world-playground-deceit.net/blog/2024/10/sfeed-setup.html)

sfeed (https://codemadness.org/sfeed-simple-feed-parser.html) has basic infrastructure to do that

A pretty interesting project I came across via reddit. Seems like a good lightweight solution for self-hosting git repos if you don't want to be burdened with the overhead of managing a full-fledged code forge. This also seems to come with a stagit offering for serving over gopher [1][2].

I had this problem too, until I installed and configured sfeed[1] on my server --- now it's all on one page, and much less "push-y" :P

I personally find IdiotBox[1] to be better than this as it opens links in ad free youtube embeds and also links channel and other information alongside the video itself.
P.S. you can replace the “watch?=“ part of a youtube url with “/embed/“ and get a distraction free view of the video.
Or you could just open it in mpv or something.

If you can somehow run it through github actions and output to styled html see: https://codemadness.org/downloads/sfeed/html/feeds.html
not sure if it would fit on the screen.
alternatively you could export to gopher put he file/files on a gopher server and read in the gopher client app on ios https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gopher-client/id1235310088

Googling a bit of the stylesheet suggests that it's stagit, a static page generator for git repos:
https://codemadness.org/stagit.html
Contrast these two pages, and you'll see it's a match:

This looks like https://codemadness.org/stagit.html
Other popular choices are gitweb and cgit (both dynamic).
