At the risk of "OK Boomer" replies...
Chris Pedrick's Web Developer Toolbar, an extension that was once the greatest thing, does this and many other useful and insightful things.
My fave, I think, is Information -> View Document Outline, which is pivotal for gaming Google SEO, by telling you how your Heading tags semantically convey the page's story.

Yes, but do you enable two-factor auth on your developer account(s)?

The popular (> 1 million installs) Chrome extension "Web Developer" was compromised this morning. The hacked version of the extension has already been removed from the Chrome Web Store.
If you have the extension installed you should disable it and reset passwords for any sites you visited this morning.

No, you're wrong. You weren't around obviously, so you probably don't know it was in Beta for donkeys. I actually remember first using it in 2006.
Here's an article about the beta 1 refresh from Nov 2005, so it was out even earlier than that.

Your google-fu needs a lot of work as even my first search showed a lot of articles in 2006 and 2007 talking about the IE dev toolbar, e.g.:
http://betanews.com/2007/05/10/microsoft-releases-ie-developer-toolbar…
EDIT: Interestingly reading through some of the comments on the first post, it seems people claim the IE dev toolbar was inspired by http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/ and the initial release date for the IE Dev toolbar was Sept 2005 (see http://c82.net/posts.php?id=23)

My suggestion is to take a look at this plugin and make everything about it better and faster:

I use this thing several hours per day.

There are at least three addons that allow viewing network activity with Firefox:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/live-http-headers
I haven't tried it but I expect the developer edition does too:
