No, we started with Gecko (on Graphene, a sandboxing multiprocessor framework from b2g/FirefoxOS). We switched for hard-nosed wins of Chromium (as part of Electron) because out of the box vs. Gecko, most rows in the spreadsheet favored Chromium decisively. This is covered in

Why do you write "probably... based on... relationship ended"? Brave as a startup does not have time for feels not realz, pathos-over-logos nonsense. I recommend you avoid it in your work efforts too.

FYI on the Khan Academy, they have some excellent database tutorials: https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/hour-of-code/hour-of-sql
The coolest part is that the sql engine is actually sqlite compiled with emscripten to javascript.
More details on the implementation here: https://brianbondy.com/blog/168/sql-on-khan-academy-enabled-by-sqlite-…

If you want to understand what's going on, then go to the source. Either read the Microsoft documentation or read the documentation coming from an actual browser vendor working on this. At Mozilla, we talk about what we're doing so you're likely to get the best information with us.

khanacademy.org - Mountain View, CA - remote is a possibility
Non-profit trying to change education.
A note we got last week:
==================================
I only have a bachelor's degree in IT and I can only find "boring" jobs because of that even if my actual job can seem cool on paper.
I watched Cosmos and other sciences/physics stuff and was always amazed by that kind of knowledge. I tried to understand a bit more about the physics but lacked the mathematical knowledge. I looked for ways to refresh my memory and discovered Khan Academy.
Khan Academy made me fall in love mathematics. The master challenge are amazing, I spend 20-30h a week on Khan Academy while working full time and saving money because...
I will go back to school next year to try to get a degree in Physics.

Every month we get letters like this from people everywhere who are thankful for our free, high-quality content. Most of you know Sal's videos, but we also have thousands of videos from other teachers, partnerships with the likes of MoMA, the Met, and the Aspen Institute, plus a huge library of interactive exercises. More than 20 million math problems are done every week on our site.

You might be confused with something else.
Brave was founded by Brandon Eich (created JS, worked at Mozilla) and Brian Bondy who also worked at Mozilla (https://brianbondy.com/resume).
Neither have Palantir on their resumes.

It's based on GitHub's Electron (Chromium) on desktop, and Firefox for iOS on iOS: http://www.brianbondy.com/blog/172/brave-software

It must have been: Brave co-founder Brian Bondy blogged about that purchase several months ago. http://www.brianbondy.com/blog/171/the-link-bubble-android-web-browser…

I'm the owner of the site, here is the associated blog post that summarizes some of that data: http://www.brianbondy.com/blog/id/117/

Microsoft will allow Metro browsers other than IE, but that browser must be set as the user's default browser for both Metro and Desktop environments. So you can't run Metro IE and Metro Firefox simultaneously or default to Desktop IE and Metro Firefox.
http://www.brianbondy.com/blog/id/129/firefox-metro-development-begins…
A browser can only participate in Metro mode if it is the default browser. So if Firefox is not the default browser on a system, you can't use it in Metro mode. This is a decision made by Microsoft.

The major change to updates in Fx12 is that the Windows UAC prompt will no longer appear for every update (by default). Some additional changes (like finishing the update in the background instead of at the next startup) are coming in a later version:

Chrome avoids it by installing into the User's own folder. Firefox is installed in Program Files, which requires user authorisation.
Arguably, this is the correct place to install, as it means that the application is usable by anyone on the PC, rather than having to be installed for each user individually.
