I did some digging for you, I am not the best at Rails but from my understanding, it seems to throw the queries into ActiveRecords QueryAttribute using bind parameters [1]. So I'd say enough safe from sqli [2].

Rails 7.1 introduces analyze and verbose as ActiveRecord::Relation#explain options to give us deeper insight into query performance.

> “ We haven’t migrated to using the encrypted config/credentials.yml.enc introduced in Rails 5.2. This approach presents us with a few problems, most notably that we run our apps in Rails “production” environment in numerous places (integration, staging, production) and need different secrets for them.”
I think it’s possible to have credentials for each environment. But that’s only as of Rails 6. They may be running older versions (it seems).

1. You are correct for upload, but not for download. Looks like rails 7 added support for presigned urls: https://blog.saeloun.com/2021/09/14/rails-7-adds-expiring-urls-to-acti…
2. CDN support is via monkey patch: https://github.com/rails/rails/issues/44136

Rails 7 has finally added this to active record: sole and find_sole_by
Both raise an exception unless a single record is found.
Of course this would not make a difference when working with mongoid... I also like the fail fast approach.

Nowadays in Rails-land there's lots of tools to manage that, [the latest](https://blog.saeloun.com/2020/02/25/rails-strict-loading-mode-to-fix-n… integrated into Rails itself.
ORMs can be bad, but it's not fair to blame them "just because".
