I occasionally write technical stuff on machine learning, statistics or Golang etc. Basically whatever suits my fancy. Been on the HN front page a few times.

This is the article I link to when I see people making statements about racist algorithms: https://blog.chewxy.com/2015/08/04/algorithms-are-chaotic-neutral/
Basically, algorithms are the wrong layer to work in if you want to fix this problem.

It's because currently FractalViewer is not designed to work around floating point precision limits in JavaScript. So, after zooming a bit, you hit the "pixelated wall". I plan to address this issue in future release of FractalViewer. See https://github.com/valera-rozuvan/FractalViewer/issues/10 .
More information on JS floating point numbers, their limitations, and ways to work around those limits - can be found in this informative article http://blog.chewxy.com/2014/02/24/what-every-javascript-developer-shou… .

For our backend[1],
- We are using the default test framework that comes with Go; go test.
- We usually follow Postel's law which translated to Go, would be: `Accept interfaces, return concrete types`[2]
This enables us to pass in fake interfaces during tests.
I haven't checked what kind of performance cost(if any) we may be paying by passing around interfaces instead of concrete implementations; but performance has not been a problem so far so we are just happy with our approach.
- We do not use any http web frameworks, we are just using stdlib's net/http.
We pair that with certmagic[3] for automated TLS certificate issuance and renewal.
I like the performance of Go, it is easy to pick up and it comes with a pretty great stdlib.
What I do not like is the fact that it has nil pointers, and you tend to run into one or two nil pointer dereference errors once in a while.

Ahem. Let me be the first to say, YUCK!!!
I don't understand why people like this language. I am sure it has it's uses etc., but come on, if you want to build a reliable, easy-to-reason program, using JS is just running up a escalator that is going down.

I can see using js as a target language with a 'transpiler', but JS is just a shitty language to write code.
