Highly recommend that anyone looking for an OSS tool to build serverless apps on AWS check out Architect [1].
The folks behind Architect built a fully hosted service that includes CI/CD called Begin [2].
I’m happily using both for a few different projects.

Yes! It's great. Scales very well. Costs almost nothing. Focused only on business logic. Provision in minutes. Deploy in seconds. I will never go back.

The people behind this aren't from AWS. They're from a startup whose product abstracts over AWS. https://begin.com

Author should check out https://arc.codes and https://begin.com because I think that's what they're looking for.
I would err to say that Pulumi is not and should not really be used for this, but I was just thinking of how annoying it is setup some open source projects in AWS (especially if they're made for it or any other specific env) and that having the Pulumi config, at least some basic modules, would make it so much easier to get started.
