On a complete tangent: there's a drawing of an iceberg halfway through the article, the typical vertical shape with 10% above the surface. It turns out that icebergs don't float that way; they rotate until they are mostly horizontal. It's one of those things that once I found out, I see wrong icebergs everywhere. For details, read the article https://axbom.com/iceberg/ and try the iceberg simulator https://joshdata.me/iceberger.html or read the tweet that started it https://xcancel.com/GlacialMeg/status/1362557149147058178

Reminds me of this - predating AI https://axbom.com/keystroke-dynamics/ As early as 1860, experienced telegraph operators realized they could actually recognize each individual by everyone's unique tapping rhythm. To the trained ear, the soft tip-tap of every operator could be as recognizable as the spoken voice of a family member.

Apps - I selfhost most of my stuff. Very similar to https://axbom.com/indieweb/ OS - Ubuntu everywhere Online Storage - This is part of my selfhosting stack. My server is in my house (but accessible from internet), no need for at rest encryption. Social Media - Not much apart from some reddit and HN. Never got into other things.
