Looks great! Can I use this for my product's onboarding instead of https://www.appcues.com/ ?

Great work - this looks very cool. We'd be very interested in exploring it. We started looking into https://www.appcues.com/ but their pricing seems prohibitively expensive. They have a nice Chrome extension that allows nontechnical folks to easily create/customize the onboarding/tooltips for your app -- curious how your snippet will guide users through creation. Really excited for you!

Appcues | Senior Frontend Engineer | Boston, MA | ONSITE | Full-time | https://www.appcues.com At Appcues, we’re helping teams create products their users love. We think leaving a great first impression is a large part of that, so we've created a platform that lets product managers create onboarding experiences for their products—without needing to write any code. Many front-end engineers spend a lot of time doing the same non-domain-specific work at every company: building onboarding tours, modals, and tooltips. Like AWS did with many non-domain-specific backend tasks, we're here to take this burden away from the engineers and empower product managers to do it themselves, freeing engineers to work on the hard technical problems they really enjoy. Major companies like Canva, Lyft, and IBM are already using us to create amazing user experiences, and over 30M people have seen experiences built with Appcues this year. Appcues' web products are built with ES6, React, Redux, Styled Components, and the rest of the modern frontend tech cast. We're looking for a great frontend engineer to bring our product and user interface to the next level. You will collaborate directly with our users and our 14 incredibly talented engineers—veterans from companies like HubSpot, PayPal, Bose and the MIT Media Lab—to ship product that solves real problems. Hit me up, apply online, or check out our glassdoor for more information.

This seems similar to Appcues (http://appcues.com/). Appcues is oriented at PMs though. I'm not sure what the market is for a product which requires messing with the HTML of the site.

Something like Appcues, https://www.appcues.com/

> they'd choose features that majority of customers are requesting Just an interesting Side-note: features customers REQUEST and features customers CARE ABOUT are not the same. People are great at telling what they like or don't like when you show it to them, but they're not always great at telling you how to improve it. I can't find the source now, but I've come across a story of a game in which players were complaining that the shotgun was too weak. The game devs solved this problem by... increasing the reload time on the sniper rifle, and the complaints went away. The players could correctly tell that there was a problem, but incorrectly diagnosed the best solution (assuming the devs were right in their decision). Here are some random articles going over this argument in more detail: https://www.appcues.com/blog/dont-give-users-what-they-want https://www.nngroup.com/articles/first-rule-of-usability-dont-listen-t… https://uxplanet.org/stop-asking-users-what-they-want-21e9ba646bce

Interesting experience, I recently read an article that gave me the impression that they rather improved the system. Excerpt from https://www.appcues.com/blog/rating-system-ux-star-thumbs/ "In addition to the new rating system, Netflix has new match percentages (up to 100%) to more accurately predict how much users will like something. ... The new rating system received 200% more ratings in A/B tests, according to Netflix VP of Product Todd Yellin. When it comes to rating movies and shows, stars reflect the preferences that people want to have, rather than how people actually behave. Todd gave the example of users giving 5 stars to a documentary but just 3 stars to an Adam Sandler movie that they watched over and over again. “What you do versus what you say you like are different things,” said Todd."
