> Not that person, but what put me off arch is that they aim to provide "vanilla" packages, which means I have to configure everything on my own.
I highly suggest Antergos [0]. It's a pre-configured, easy to install Arch Linux. I switched to Antergos from Ubuntu mainly for the 'rolling releases', the good Arch documentation and the package registry (AUR, etc.). It's the best Linux experience that I ever had. I love the rolling releases.

Arch (or Antrgos[1] if you want an out-of-the-box experience), work very well on my MBP, can recommend.

I went with Antergos (http://antergos.com/) and I love it. The install is hassle free also. It's fairly light, looks good, and gives you plenty of DE options without getting bloated.

For beginners https://antergos.com/ is a clean version of Arch just with a simple installer. So you get all the benefits of Arch with no bloat (like Manjaro) and don't have to learn installing the OS manually.

Here you go: https://antergos.com/
In opposition to Manjaro (which is an Arch fork), Antergos is Arch + install GUI with default desktop env.

If you are interested in Arch but not the overhead it entails, you may wish to consider Antergos https://antergos.com/
It's basically a fully set up Arch with sane defaults. Lets you have the rolling updates and other benefits, without requiring as much energy to set up.

Try out Antergos 17.4 in a VM. I think you'll really like it. I personally use Ubuntu 16.04/Unity 7, but I'm very impressed with the flat look and sleekness overall. Antergos is based off of Arch Linux. https://antergos.com

My choice is Antergos, an easy-to-install ArchLinux based distro. It is just a collection of cherry picked pkgs from Arch repositories, with fewer customization in comparison to Manjaro (also Arch-based).
If you want a less "rolling" distro, Manjaro is a really good choice.
