If I were you, I would be inspired from http://www.cgsociety.org/ http://abduzeedo.com/ http://blog.drawn.ca/ http://www.logodesignlove.com/ http://www.davidairey.com/ http://www.helveticbrands.ch/blog/ and will try to create my ideas first on paper with pencil and then digitize them with proper technology, searching for tutorials like the ones on tuts network http://tutsplus.com/ CG Society is a great place to immerse yourself with graphic design.
But I think that if you want to learn graphic design just to create your own design and logo, I would say don't bother. You can easily hire a designer to do that for you and it would be cost effective. Just learn to distinguish good design from the bad and learn to effectively communicate the ideas you have.

After having read about the Nintendo 3DS all day, I've been dying to see this 3D effect in action. This is really awesome.
Now the question is, is there an easy way to do this with our own content? I would love to mess around with this technology.

I now know that these are stereoscopic image examples. My question still stands though, what would be the easiest way to go about reproducing this effect? It seems like mounting two flip minos could be really cool if this would work.
Anyone know of any really smooth examples of this technology?

Firstly, this is a blog post from December 2009 so not quite 'news'.
Secondly, if the point of this was to help inspire people when creating their own logo's then why link to an arbitrary page in the middle of their A-Z collection when there is a specific page dedicated to this: http://abduzeedo.com/tags/logo
Thirdly, tangentially, what is it about the use of the word 'cleverest' that makes me cringe?!
