The personal blog of a developer and hardware tinkerer covering a graphical terminal, DNA sequencing, chip die images, and embedded electronics.
What HN saysHN links it for the HTerm graphical terminal, DNA sequencing IP summaries, and chip decapping and die images; one commenter reports a broken DEB download link.

I'm not an expert in the IP, but this 2021 summary is better than my best understanding

While sulfuric or nitric acid is the best way to do this, you can also decap using a box cutter and some patience. I recently did this to figure out if an opamp I bought was fake:

I’ve posted some better images here:

I’m going to try and get setup to decap properly. But the for those more concerned about using the required acids, a box cutter can give some insight into what’s going on in many devices...

Lots of terminals support both inline and loaded graphics. A surprising number of terminals support things like OSC 1337: https://chromium.googlesource.com/apps/libapps/+/master/hterm/doc/Cont…
It's worth noting that iTerm2 and ChromeOS's HTerm (https://chromium.googlesource.com/apps/libapps/+/master/hterm) are a popular but hardly singular example. The (unfortunately name conflicted) HTerm/Hackterm is a pretty cool example of an older standard: http://41j.com/hterm/

Would love to try it, but the "Linux" link points to a DEB package (I'm on RPM distro ..) that's missing (404):

Can you provide a generic binary?

MEMS microphones are fascinating, and incredibly small:

I found your hack (http://41j.com/blog/2016/09/mirrorswitch/) very interesting. Enough to pop open a dumb switch I had laying around...
RTL chipset. Googled the DS in 2 minutes. What do you know... VLANs, port mirroring, IGMP snooping, ACLs and an embedded 8051!

hterm[1] supports ReGIS which is vectors graphics.
A standard xterm supports vt340 if you start it with the option "-ti vt340" which supports ReGIS as well.

Well there is HTerm which is available for Linux.

Hm, I remembered something seemed to be linked here on HN some time ago, so after quick googling:

http://41j.com/hterm/
Surprised that you missed it, so I'm still not quite sure if maybe I misunderstood something in your question, or you were just having some healthy holidays around that particular time :)
[EDIT] Oh! For more added fun, I've stumbled upon ReGIS's sibling for bitmaps, SIXEL; some pretty screenshots e.g. at:

I remember that the early comments were pretty negative on the Parallella.

How does the product rate now that it's finished? I bought one and I think it should be shipping in the next week or two. My feeling was that good or bad, supporting the Kickstarter campaign might help spur the industry just a tad bit faster. We really seemed to have stalled on multi-core general purpose computers.

Is hterm.js in any way related to http://41j.com/hterm/ ?
