Kong used to be a product of the company Mashape. Now all funding goes to the Kong ecosystem while the marketplace was split off https://konghq.com/blog/the-api-marketplace-joins-rapidapi/
https://docs.rapidapi.com/docs/provider-dashboard Best URL I could find that doesn't lead to a signup page.
https://promptapi.com/ which got acquired recently.
We used https://www.3scale.net/ years ago, prior to the RedHat acquisition. Afaik the source code is now open.

The parent comments author has this in the profile:
>about: CEO at http://www.3scale.net
I'd venture to say there is at least some qualification to answer here. </sarcasm>

it was interesting that when we tried to pull together the best blog posts on APIs across the web this year (http://www.3scale.net/2012/12/top-10-api-blog-posts-2012/) the strongest theme was exactly about this - the push and pull of private data and platforms.

The article doesn't really provide anything specific - oAuth is actually hard to implement and the reason for variations is typically down to both dev cycles and differing opinions on security elements.
We see a lot of openAuth implementations (we provide infrastructure for it: http://www.3scale.net) and we try to help people be uniform, but the spec still has room for interpretation.
I think there'll be convergence - things like http://www.ifttt.com/ will encourage people to the straight and narrow - but it'll take time. Agree with some of the other commenters - not sure how much this article really helps: a detailed laundry list might be better.

We are on Ruby, Sinatra, Rails, Nginx, Lua & not afraid of new technologies.
Our open positions are on https://www.3scale.net/about/jobs/
We're based in Barcelona, but had remote workers in the past and still might be opened to that after some warmup time. On some hiring sites we were publically posting 50k EUR for Senior Backend Developer.
Being here for 5 years I can say there is plenty of growth space for good developers. Cheers.
