My favorite shared emails, are David Thorne's[0]. [0] https://27bslash6.com

Regardless, it's amazingly funny! This is another favorite of mine: https://27bslash6.com/missy.html

It's sad the Troll now means asshole. Ken M [1] style trolling is one of my favorite things on the internet. Even David Thorne's [2] slightly more aggressive Trolling is fantastic. I think we need to separate this from online bullies. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_M [2] https://27bslash6.com/missy.html

If you're new to him, you're in for some fun. The spider article is great: http://www.27bslash6.com/overdue.html

Love this site. This one: http://www.27bslash6.com/missy.html, makes me giggle audibly every time...

Dave Thorne is the master of the format: http://www.27bslash6.com/

If you want a humorous take, the classic "Missing Missy" http://www.27bslash6.com/missy.html

I agree that time spent does not equal good design. But years of experience is always required before doing good design in a short time. Always a good read :) "...you were asking me to design a logotype which would have taken me a few hours and fifteen years experience..." from http://www.27bslash6.com/p2p.html

This one isn't quite a complaint, but it's my favorite corporate customer service exchange. The logical gymnastics are brilliant and hilarious. Enjoy: http://www.27bslash6.com/blockbuster.html Update: This one might be even better: http://www.27bslash6.com/overdue.html

Can the link be changed to the original? The whole site http://www.27bslash6.com/ is comic gold.

See http://www.27bslash6.com/p2p.html for an amusing and related story told in emails. The software equivalent I find goes like this: Business person rings up to ask us to develop a software package to run his business. The spec is always somewhat vague and very idiosyncratic. The businessman then explains that once we have developed this software for him then we will be able to sell it to lots of other businesses and that he will only ask for half the income in exchange for his amazing business knowledge. Plus, of course, we will be able to use his (free) implementation as a reference site. We usually manage to contain our enthusiasm and decline these wonderful offers.

It would be marvelous if they used a drawing of a spider. https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html

Others may not accept that overdue claim: https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html

I tried for ages to get DALLE to draw me a cartoon spider, but gave up in the end. All the other cartoon animals that I asked it to create were perfect, but it could not draw a spider with eight legs. It's like the one thing that every child knows about spiders, but DALLE just wasn't able to it, no matter what prompt I tried. It reminded me of https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html so much that it just started to make me laugh with each new attempt.

Anyone remember this? A drawing of a seven-legged spider mailed as payment for overdue utility bills. https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html
egeozcan · 2022-05-09
I believe it's what the spider drawn by David Thorne produces: https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html Ironic that payment via random drawings became a "reality" in this crazy world after all.
MildlySerious · 2022-02-22
"As you have not accepted my second drawing as payment, please return the drawing to me as soon as possible." from this[1] David Thorne post comes to mind. I hadn't thought of it in a few years. [1] https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html

A good story on NFTs is the Seven Legged Spider. https://27bslash6.com/overdue.html Which makes me wonder if the seven legged spider has been auctioned as NFT :)
trollied · 2020-09-14
Reminds me of this: http://www.27bslash6.com/overdue.html Try to pay for something with a spider drawing attached to an email, ask for the drawing back afterwards ;)
sakisv · 2019-09-05
I've got to say that the beginning of your post reminded me of this so much: http://www.27bslash6.com/halogen.html In all seriousness, coming from a Mediterranean country to the UK, the summers can be quite annoying with the light starting a little after 4am and if you don't have a good set of blinds it can get very disruptive. Your solution (ugly as it maybe ;) ) it's actually quite good as it does not require a lot of effort or DIY that a landlord could object to.
BuildTheRobots · 2019-04-16
Completely missed that on previous watches of the film. 27b-6 is a reference to George Orwell's address; Apartment 6, 27B Canonbury Square, Islington London. It's also the website of David Thorne, who is always amusing if you're looking for some vicious sarcasm: http://www.27bslash6.com/missy.html
gioele · 2018-01-28
Finally David Thorne will be able to get its spider back: http://www.27bslash6.com/overdue.html
__derek__ · 2016-12-05
Agreed. It struck me as a more humane (yet less hilarious) version of Missing Missy.[1] [1]: http://www.27bslash6.com/missy.html

I looked up these links so I might as well paste them here: Spider: http://27bslash6.com/overdue.html Monty: http://www.419eater.com/html/bigman.htm
